Garmin Recomendation

Got ourselves a 265WT at Christmas and really enjoy it. Would like to get a GPS for daughter's college graduation and really like Garmin. One feature the 265 lacks that I'd like to include for her is routes. What suggestions does the forum have for a Garmin model in the price range of the 265 (somewhat more $ I would imagine) that has routing capability?

1490T

Not sure about your price range but I think a refurb 1490T is a great deal right now - about $200.

You just need to update the firmware (it may already be that way) and you're good to go.

It's main features (distinguishing it from other Garmin GPSs):
- has lifetime traffic
- 5" screen
- routes
- multiple-point routing
- Ability to create/save routes

855

Amazon is selling the Nuvi 855 for $167.00 with free shipping. I bought one for the wife's car and it's not a bad GPS. You can read the specs on Amazon's website.

Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong.

I agree with the 1490T

It is a great unit.
And once I've used a 5" screen, I can't ever go back to the 3.5" ones.

Go to the Garmin Products page https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134 and look on lower left for features you want like routes.Put check mark in your selection. It will show the models with those features. Then look on the web for best price.

Charlie. Nuvi 265 WT and Nuvi 2597 LMT. MapFactor Navigator - Offline Maps & GPS.

Got

Check out Price Club. They have great deals on Garmins. One has lifetime map updates included.

i would recommend the 765T

i would recommend the 765T as the price of it dropped considerably. you can get it for around $200 now.

765T

Would be similar to your 265WT, with the additional features of saved multi-point routes, MP3 & audiobook players, powered cradle, FM transmitter, line out jack, lane assist & junction view.
