◦Added display of the total length of all selected tracks/routes in the status bar.
◦Added numeric sorting of routes, tracks and waypoints.
◦Added ability to send error reports directly to Garmin after a crash.

◦Fixed some auto-routing oddities.
◦Fixed remembering 'Find Nearest' dialog search category.
◦Fixed issues with 'Save As' file dialog (in some cases, existing files were overwritten without prompting).
◦Fixed some issues with the Swedish grid.
◦Fixed issue with address search when a city name was supplied.
◦Fixed loss of mixed-case characters when transferring routes to some USB devices.
◦Fixed an issue with the refreshing of the route avoidances dialog.
◦Fixed an issue with finding elevation features.
◦Fixed an issue where the comment field would be incorrect after creating a waypoint from a find result.
◦Fixed an issue where transferring data from a mass-storage device would fail.

mapsource incorrectly reports no update available

Thanks to dave817. When I clicked "check for updates", mapsource reports none available. When I clicked on the link provided, I could download and install the new version. Now I can view/edit nuvi addresses. Also, I can view/edit category if I pre-define categories in mapsource preferences. I know there are better waypoint editing programs but I sometimes prefer mapsource.

.

They must have just put it up for download from Mapsource, I'm getting it now.

This version now works great with Windows 7 and the GPS depot files. I had been using the Beta version, but it went away in April. All is good now..

Mapsource "check for updates" offers me version 6.15.11, not 6.16.1.

The link works for me, offering me the 6161 file to download. My two PCs were updated via Mapsource's Check For Updates earlier today. Try again maybe.

Are you using a Mac?

It may not be a Mac version.

New Track Display too Bold....

This new version is displaying my tracks using larger dots. This may not sound like a biggie, but when I'm reviewing a previous dirt bike trip in a National Forest to plan a future one, the new track dots are so bold and dense that they cover up some of the forest roads (which can be close together) that I need to see in order to plan a route. Is there a way to select the original small dot track display method? I've spent considerable time trying to do that with no success.

I loaded 6.16.1 and I can't find where I can change the size of the Waypoint symbol.

How do I do it?

Garmin just never gets it right

Finally, after all this time, MapSource supports address and phone fields!

And then they ruined the route displays. The active route is completely opaque, with heavy black lines on each side. It completely covers the route signs and POIs so that you can't read them. If you unselect the route, it turns transparent. What were they thinking?

I also preferred the old method of displaying the tracks. It’s virtually impossible to see the selected track now since the shades of grey are so close. You can change the color of the selected track, but it’s somewhat cumbersome to do it from the track properties menu. The lettering for the street names now appears more jagged and harder to read when you are zoomed in.

Please Restore the Mapsource v6.15.11 Track Displays

I'm with you. The old method of displaying tracks with the color set to transparent gives a nice clean narrow track line with small dots making for a display that doesn't overlay the map's roads and road names/numbers with oversized dots.

The way I'm getting around having to look at the screwed up v6.16.1 tracks display is to use my saved copy of v6.15.11 for that purpose. I'm using the old version for viewing/printing track displays and the new version for everything else.

Thanks for the heads-up...

I appreciate it. smile

Waypoint names in Ver 6.16.1 not diplayed

I've uploaded and installed Mapsource 6.16.1 yesterday. It does not display the Waypoint names unless you zoom in very closely onto the Waypoint. What is wrong ?

New Mapsource

I am hesitant now to D/L this newest version after the comments.

Why is it Garmin takes one step forward and two steps back ?

Thanks

Thanks for the notification and the comprehensive list. I will install it tonight and check it out.
