How do you add a custom alert sound for red light cameras to a nuvi 1690?

It looks like I will be giving up my Garmin 785t In a few months . I ordered a new Ford Flex limited and it has everything that the Garmin has.

I have a frustrating problem with my new Garmin 255W. It tries to direct me off the interstates and major highways onto backroads and smaller highways. I have changed the setting from "fastest" to "shortest" and back again and nothing seems to help. This is when I know where I'm going and the most direct way is the interstate. Please help!

Anyone using the ecoRoute HD module? If so how is it performing for you? For those that are unfamiliar with this addon below is a site explaining it.

I recently updated the file on my 265WT. This one was the most recent update that my webupdater found. It contained an update for the blutooth functionality. After the update my Motorolla pairing had to be redone as the preovious pairing was wiped out. Beware.

I just purchased a NUVI 255W and downloaded various POIS.
Included for each POI was a .csv file, a BMP and a mp3 sound alert. I renamed each poi the same as the .csv file. The icon appears, but I never can get a sound aleret. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a way? There is a road I use everyday that is not included in even the latest update. I am afraid I already know the answer, but is there a way for me to edit the road into the map? I would even settle for routing to include this road based on the fact that I have traveled on it before, even if the road does not show up. Does any of that make sense?

hey look i really need help with this gps thing here. i can't see my map. it's saying something like no map data? how can i reinstall it again. i have a nuvi 350 gps garmin. please help me out.

Hey guys, My Dash board says I have a software update on my Garmin 255WT and web updater says software is uptodate. There is no update available. what should I do? Do I need to update the one dashboard says? None of them mention the version.
I have version 6.40 on my garmin. Do advice.

Let me share what happened to us today, so that you can learn what might happen and keep an eye out for it....

We rushed to the car to go somewhere this evening, and mounted the GPS, and draped the cable over the rear view mirror, and plugged the FM receiver into the cigarette lighter.. Nothing happened....

I'm hoping someone can give me some good advice I'm thinking about doing a lifetime update on my garmin 360 I was thinking about buying a new GPS but I've been doing some research and I see they have a lot of problems and my 360 works great except it is outdated so if anybody has done this update could recommend it or not would be much appreciated and also if anybody would know this or

I have loaded custom sounds for my POI's and they are not working. I have followed the tutorial exactly. The name of the mp3 file is exactly the same as the csv file and the bmp file. When I get close to one of the custom POIs I hear the "bong, bong, bong" sound, instead of my custom alert.

I want to install webupdater to a directory other than C:\ (E:\ for example).

The install does not allow me to do that (ie custom install).

Is there a work-around?

I boosted the volume by editing the voice file. However, that works only if it's hooked up to the car charger. If using the internal battery, the volume is not boosted. Does anyone know what file to edit in order to boost the volume while in internal battery?
