Boosting volume on Garmin 765T while using internal battery.

I boosted the volume by editing the voice file. However, that works only if it's hooked up to the car charger. If using the internal battery, the volume is not boosted. Does anyone know what file to edit in order to boost the volume while in internal battery?
Thanks,

not possible

The way the unit handles audio output when powered via car adapter vs battery is contained in the unit's firmware code which cannot be modified.

Thanks. That sucks.

Thanks.
That sucks.

Bad News.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 765T not only has the volume problem but several others also. There are many posts on this site that bring out the negative things about this unit. I had two of them and neither worked right. I returned them and got a 1490T and couldn't be happier.

audio levels

The audio level differences between external power/battery is not solely related to the 765 series and is not a bug nor an issue with that particular unit. I believe all nuvis operate in this manner...they reduce the volume and brightness levels while on battery power to reduce battery usage.

Hate to disagree but.....

my 1490T has the same level I set it at running on battery or plugged in. The 1490t has a larger speaker and the output is much clearer..

Does the Gilsson 18 poin power supply fix the volume

The MONSTER CABLE that comes with the 765t is horrible. If you try to use a MINI USB car charger instead, the 765t goes into "office" mode with half brightness and what my mom used to call "indoor voice."

I know that gilsson sells an 18 pin power supply and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and does it "fix" the low volume and half brightness and act as if the Garmin Traffic MONSTER cable was plugged in.

Anyone? I'm using it on a motorcycle and need the brightness more than the volume, but surely don't like the MONSTER cable.

I may have to be the guinea pig and just buy one to find out unless someone can save me $18 by an answer here.

Found manageable power that fixes the half volume & brightness

This guinea pig Bought an 18 pin power supply from Amazon which has a nice little thin manageable cord unlike the MONSTER traffic power supply that came with my 765t. Works great on my bike and keeps the 765 at full volume and full brightness.

The image provided has a "lighter" adaptor. Is that what you're using? What did you install as power socket? (Or did your bike come already equipped, in which case, why not just use the power cord that came with the unit?)

Never mind the second part of that question, you don't like the cord itself.

I'm still interested in what you plug it into.
