Creating multi-destinations

I recently upgraded my GPS from a Garming C530 to a Nuvi 1450. The 1450 supports serial destinations via the "route" function (I think), but I haven't quite got the hang of it yet.

I want to start at my HOME, go to POINT A then to POINT B, then back to my HOME. How do I do that?

On my 775. I choose Tools/Custom Routes/Create

Add the destinations you want, and then Save. If you want to re-order them for nearest to far, open it again, and click Optimize. It does just that. Save again.

multi-destinations

Select Go To:
choose your first destination and hit Go.

Select Go To:
choose your 2nd point and hit Go... add as via.

Repeat as desired (as long as your nuvi supports multiple destinations) and save.

If you want to reorder your route, go to tools/routes/active route and chose to manually or optimally reorder points.

Yup, that's what I do.

Would like feedback

Whenever I read a question like the one in this thread, I go to the appropriate manual and see if I can find the answer.

In this case, I determined that one could add points in "pedestrian" mode, but no indication that you could do the same in "automobile" or "bicycle" mode.

A features sheet I have indicates that Multiple Routing is a feature.

Assuming that you try adding via points per the above suggestions, let us know if they work, please.

Multi destinations per route.

To get multi-destination in 1 route do the following:
1. select your final destination from favorites, recently found, or map (place cursor on point on map),
2. Then select GO. Wait until route is calculated the select your intermediate destination from favorites, recently found, or map .
3. Select GO again. The Garmin will ask you if the new destination is a new final destination or a VIA. Your answer should be VIA.

This will now set the new route with 2 destinations the VIA being the first destination and your first selection as your final destination.

Step 3 can be repeated up to 9 times, until all 10 declinations are used. 9 VIAs and 1 final destination.

Thanks

I was wondering about this too. I am going to try it tomorrow. I like the optimize option.
