Nuvi recalculates while on clover leaf interchange.

I have noticed an unusual bahvior on my 765T. When traveling when GPS guidance on, the unit will recalculate when traveling on a clover leaf freeway interchange.
The GPS plotted route indicates I should take the clover leaf, but in the middle of making the 360 degre turn, it will say "recalculating." Then it will re-plot the same route as before.
Has anyone else noticed this behavior?
By any chance ...
has this particular cloverleaf recently undergone any reconstruction?
yes!
Come to think of it, since my recent firmware update I notice that it does recalculate on the larger clover leafs!! I havent really paid that much attention it it until I read about it here just now. And, yes, it resumes the same route as before. Will pay particular attention to it on my next trip in a few days.
Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.
I had it doing that on one
I had it doing that on one clover leaf, played with the zoom and it fixed itself,
Looking at the map, there is a road{off ramp) that was almost on top of the road i was on and i think the nuvi was getting confused on what road i should be on, i zoomed out one layer and seperated the roads and it seemed to have fixed itself, dont know if that was really the problem or not but i havent had betty recalculate in that area. but i think i updated a map along that same period of time, you may try it, dont garantee the results tho.

Yes
Have noticed it on my 750 for the last couple of months. Just a few times but it did seem strange. It would just say recalculation, even though I was not on a cloverleaf, and then give the same directions!!

Recalculating...
Yes, I just returned from two trips, and the nuvi 760 did this several times. It is fully updated and none of the interchanges have been modified recently. It did not cause any difficulty, since it found its position and continued navigating in less than a minute with no action needed on my part.

i suspect
I suspect it is a flaw in the map data. I think what you are seeing is a break in the way the map segments are joined together. I had the same problem with a segment on an earlier release that has since been corrected. Report it to Garmin so they can fix it.

Recalculating on Mis-Aligned Highways
There is a westbound stretch of I88 in the Chicago area that got shifted a bit due to widening and relocation of toll booths. Ever since, driving through it triggers a "recalculating" with an automatic self-correction a few seconds later. It seems that the map data is off just enough to make the GPSr snap to an adjacent wrong lane, and then snap back to the correct lane. This is probably the same effect as an enlarged cloverleaf.
Never updated map

My map is the same map that the Nuvi 750 had on it when I bought it in 2007. I have never updated it. The firmware has not been updated since Sept of last year. Nothing new.

Maybe --- Either
What about the cloverleaf? Any changes to it?
Second, let's not forget we sometimes lose contact with one or more of the satellites, changing the accuracy. The calculation could snap you to a nearby frontage road and by the time it recalculates you move and/or get snapped back to the cloverleaf.

This seems likely and perhaps a reason for some other odd recalculations.
Recalculate.
If the recalculate is random and does not always occur with the same cloverleaf, then Ozme52's explanation makes some sense. But if a given stretch of road alway generates a recalc, the cause is probably a mismatch between the map data and the actual location or shape of the cloverleaf ... causing the nuvi to "think" it is off the road. There is a spot on I-35W in Minneapolis that always causes a recalculate on my nuvi. It always happens at the same spot on the interchange.

I have that same problem
with several cloverleaf ramps here in the San Francisco Bay Area. My nuvi 760 will indicate recalculating one or several times and then eventually get back on track. No modification has taken place for at least ten years with these ramps.
Nuvi 3597 LMT
I wonder if this is a 700 series problem.
Those who repsponded having similar symptoms and also noted model number in their post have been the Nuvi 700 series.
Anyone out there with the same symptoms but a different series?
