I use a 885t in my bimmer convertible and just got a 765t for my Suzuki SUV. I have a 760 which has moved from the SUV to backup. I like to use my GPS for MP3 playback. Works great for a trip since I can listen to tunes and have navigation or phone calls automatically take priority when necessary. Both vehicles have Garmin remote microphones installed and a mount that is part of the vehicle so I don't have wires all over. I paid $215 for the 885t and $140 for the 765t. Both were, at one time, top of the line for Garmin.
Enough background, what is better? If you like a model other than the 765t or 885t (or 760), that is great but I suggest we limit our "best" to models with MP3 playback - or discontinued models, your choice.
I am honestly not sure which of mine I like the best. The 885t voice control is really nice to have and saves a bunch of tapping. But the 765t restarts music upon restart (885t doesn't) and is more responsive in general. I guess if I had to pick it would be the 885t. I even like the upcoming street info of the 760 better than the street you are on info of the other two. All have their advantages, in other words.
