There is now a geocache merit badge available for Boy Scouts. It is very informative in how GPS works. I sat in on my son's class and really learned alot. I had not known how a GPS can zero in to one square meter and how they come up with the longitude and latitude numbers. I would encourage any parent of a scout to get the merit badge. It was also fun finding the caches.

I have an Android Tablet. The Dell Venue 7. I have noticed that when I go to Youtube (the mobile website version) I am able to play videos. When I get to the Desktop website version of Youtube I get the message that I need to download Adobe Flash player. Is the any type of flash player that I can download for Android to get the videos to play in the Desktop website version of Youtube?

Radio Shack (an unlikely source for deals) ran a sale this Sunday and Monday. I learned about it late Monday, but still managed to score a $14 GPS! (The deal is over, but I think you may still be able to find the devices for around $20).

Microsoft is buying Nokia and will soon release a phone that will run Android.

This is looking like the beginning of the end for Droid, Android, froyo, cupcake, donut, eclair, honeycomb, kitkat, Jelly Bean, Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, yadayadayada.

I was eligible for a new phone but held off for a few months, hearing that a new Windows Phone would be out in the spring of 2012. I got a Nokia Lumia 900 in May of 2012 when it came out, and used the free Nokia Drive GPS app, only having to download the map set that I wanted to use. It turned out to work well for me, after having used Tom Tom and CoPilot on my iPhone.

Looks like Google is out front on POIS. Wonder what is holding up Garmin? I put in suggestion a while back and just resubmitted it for Android and Ipad to get POI Loader.

Anyone having problems with Waze on an older Samsung phone?

My wife and I just purchased a Samsung Tab 3 8.0 for our joint Christmas Gift to each other.

I have a NUVI 2555 LMT for navigation, but would like a free Android map application, mainly to allow my wife to see where we are on our trip, or for simple mapping applications. We might use it for wandering around town someplace or for getting an idea about the route to get from Point A to Point B.

Downloading right now, looks to be a regular update. Enhanced Urban Guidance functionality, three different routing options, latest map data, various stability and bug fixes.

Is there a way to load POIs into Copilot?

I have just downloaded this app and have never used it yet. But it looks like there is no easy way to load a POI file

I am in progress to buy and download Sygic for my smartphone, it has 50% off this weekend (in sweden at least) so i thought i will give it a try.

I will also try out the extension for heads up display, and i wonder if anybody else allready tried it and would like to share your experiences?
