Ms. POI, All day on the website...

Heck, all day on the website, is almost like being retired.

Don't fret about the child starting full-time school. One of my "babies" just started a PhD program at UNC Chapel Hill. Boy, does the time fly, but you have to enjoy them at each and every stage of life.

I look forward to seeing you around here more with us wheezers and geezers that are retired!

Left rear brake caliper

Left rear brake caliper ceased on my truck this morning. Hope all of you at POI Factory have a better week than mine has started out to be

New hobby

While we were on vacation we visited my dad up in Washington. His latest hobby is restoring old Shop Smiths to their original condition. He has about 12 of them all over his house.

Jon and I caught the bug and now we are working on setting up a wood working shop in our garage. So far we have a used table saw and we are shopping for more tools.

Our 14th wedding anniversary is this Thursday so this is our gift to each other.

We have been meeting other wood working fanatics and are learning all the tricks of the trade.

Jon and I have a love for Mission, Arts and Crafts and Shaker style furniture and we are excited about building some built-ins for our home.

We decided that a shop smith is not for us, we like individual tools.

I know that there has to be other Wood working gurus out there. What are your favorite tools?
We are looking for a plate jointer, a router, and some other smaller tools. We have friends that have the big planers that we can use.

My new favorite show is "The New Yankee Workshop" Norm is the best.

Summer going out the way it came in: cool, chilly.

At least here in Chicago, summer is going out the way it came in -- with cold/chilly weather. The temperatures dipped to low 50s this past weekend.

Oh where, oh where, did you go (did you even arrive), Summer (heat) 2009?

Re; New Hobby

Wow! Shop Smiths are not for everyone and it looks as if you both want to get your hands dirty at the same time. One other tool I would recommend is a Dremel or similar device for some of that fine work.

Just a thought

One of the major contributing factors to self-created stress is the tendency that most of us have to hold on to battles that we have virtually no chance of winning.

Need some adjustment...

Just got back to Chicago (and a 30 degree temp. change) from a week in Marco Island FL. How I wish I were still there! We caught lots of fish and had an awesome time.

Our GPS worked GREAT! Navigated perfectly and found some really good restaurants.
