This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related.
This thread will be closed on Monday and a new one will be opened.

Don't know what is happening in Texas, but, Fall is in the air!! It is nice.
Just 2 weeks till our trip to Italy, France, Monaco, and Spain. Sure hope JullMap holds up for all our walking tours.
Have a great week!
Nice weather days are back. Have a great week to all.
double "first" this week.
It is predicted to be over 100 degrees again today here in Phoenix. Fall, schmall.....
A happy and safe week to all on the forum.
I am a bit excited this morning and thought I would share.
Today is the first day of school!!!! Yaaahhhoooo!!!
Not only is this the first day of school, it is the first day that my youngest is in school all day long.
What this means is that I will be able to work on the site full time now.
I will miss my afternoons with the little one but I am so excited about being able to focus on my career.
So be ready to put up with me around here a bit more;)
Yes that means more corny jokes and such.
Hope everyone has a great week!!. My son tuned-up my truck last night, and she runs real good now. Should see an improvement in gas mileage. here's hoping....
I remember this part... They grow-up too quick though. Enjoy!!!!
Nice to hear that you get also double "FIRST" this week.
Another Monday is here. I hope everyone has a good week!
a good weekend. Still checking the forums for interesting items. Smile and people will smile back, have a great week. Watch out for school zones and School Bus drop offs.
Made it to the first page this week.
Have a great week.
Being FIRST isn't ALWAYS a good thing! Anyways, I'll take what I can get these days.
Anything exciting going on this week for anyone? SSDD for me, unfortunately.
At least i'm on the first page
Have a great week!
#24. Getting slow on the draw...
Great to have time to self. So long as technology does have priority over that precious time with self and family. Don't forget to walk outside to appreciate your 5 senses.
I hope everyone has a great week.
Heck, all day on the website, is almost like being retired.
Don't fret about the child starting full-time school. One of my "babies" just started a PhD program at UNC Chapel Hill. Boy, does the time fly, but you have to enjoy them at each and every stage of life.
I look forward to seeing you around here more with us wheezers and geezers that are retired!
Left rear brake caliper ceased on my truck this morning. Hope all of you at POI Factory have a better week than mine has started out to be
Woke to the wonderful smell of a 7.38 Boston butt on the Big Green Egg. Yum, Yum!
have a great week ahead, and be safe poi friends
While we were on vacation we visited my dad up in Washington. His latest hobby is restoring old Shop Smiths to their original condition. He has about 12 of them all over his house.
Jon and I caught the bug and now we are working on setting up a wood working shop in our garage. So far we have a used table saw and we are shopping for more tools.
Our 14th wedding anniversary is this Thursday so this is our gift to each other.
We have been meeting other wood working fanatics and are learning all the tricks of the trade.
Jon and I have a love for Mission, Arts and Crafts and Shaker style furniture and we are excited about building some built-ins for our home.
We decided that a shop smith is not for us, we like individual tools.
I know that there has to be other Wood working gurus out there. What are your favorite tools?
We are looking for a plate jointer, a router, and some other smaller tools. We have friends that have the big planers that we can use.
My new favorite show is "The New Yankee Workshop" Norm is the best.
At least here in Chicago, summer is going out the way it came in -- with cold/chilly weather. The temperatures dipped to low 50s this past weekend.
Oh where, oh where, did you go (did you even arrive), Summer (heat) 2009?
Barbara & I are going to cruise the Chicago River on a tour boat. THen more sight-seeing and something called "Power-Shopping"
Wow! Shop Smiths are not for everyone and it looks as if you both want to get your hands dirty at the same time. One other tool I would recommend is a Dremel or similar device for some of that fine work.
Not much change in the wx here in the high desert........ got to 114 one day this week......... had a small shower one evening ........... what a disappointing monsoon season.....Great golfing early in the day!
Good health and a happy week ahead for all !
First Page ? ? ?
Hope everyone has a good week! Looking forward to the long weekend.
Got those Monday blues again, but work is almost over.
Work? What's that?
Time to go home from work
Still on page 1?
My daughter's oldest just started school. She is excited even though she still has a 4 year old and a 3 year old at home. I guess when you have that many that quick just one going to school is great!
These are great. Now my husband doesn't have an excuse to not make the bench I have been wanting.
Thanks (I'm sure he doesn't thank you)
Edit: just saw the rocker, I want that too!
Great projects Bob;) Thanks for sharing. One of our friends turned us on to this site: http://thewoodwhisperer.com/
Better bring my GPS along to find all the cheap food places.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
Sorry, I've been away for awhile.
I would also get a 12" compound miter say they are the greates to do alot of different cuts. Also a scrowell saw they let you cut all kinds of diffeent patterns. Here is anoter site. www.woodplansnow.com
One of the major contributing factors to self-created stress is the tendency that most of us have to hold on to battles that we have virtually no chance of winning.
Just got back to Chicago (and a 30 degree temp. change) from a week in Marco Island FL. How I wish I were still there! We caught lots of fish and had an awesome time.
Our GPS worked GREAT! Navigated perfectly and found some really good restaurants.
