Is anyone here an app developer? I'm wondering if it would be possible to build an app to convert POI files from csv format into kml format.

I know there are tons of computer programs which can convert POI files, but I couldn't find an android app to convert the files on my smartphone.

Garmin just release their first iPhone navigation app, has anyone try it and what your opinions about StreetPilot compare to other apps?

Garmin/ Apple released StreetPilot app for iphone around Christmas. I have tried it yet. It has been listed for $39.99 CAD on App Store. It has almost all features of a Nuvi e.g. Lane Assit, Traffic, Weather etc.

Does anybody know if the Magellan iPhone app is capable of Red Light camera alerts?

I'll start:

Motorola Droid2: Rooted and a Custom Epic Unleashed ROM installed with the Verizon blotware removed.

Purchased about a month ago and so far would never lose my Garmin for the navigation in this thing. I like it as a smart phone but after you are used to the Garmin, this navigation leaves a lot to be desired. Not as complete nor as easy to use as my Nuvi. Any other reaction to it?

This was posted on another forum. I wonder if this will work with Google Maps Navigation? If so, that would be pretty handy to be able to use Google Maps Navigation without a data plan.

I'm currently in Vegas on a road trip. I used my Android phone to google locations, GPS to get to the places, and then do wireless wifi tethering on my Android phone to browse the web on my laptop, all for free (well nothing on top of my basic data plan).

Can I load redlight & camera on my Android OS smartphone (Motorola Droid) & make them work? If so, how? I have mobile: Google maps, a GPS App, a Nav App, etc.

I just found out about the Point Inside for Android earlier this week. I hope to try this at the Mall of America soon. The FAQs state that once this is downloaded, the application can be used without a wireless connection. For others here with Android, what are your favorite GPS applications?
