Hello all,

Is there any access speed difference re: POI's if loading from device memory or an SD card? Other than saving internal drive space, are there any advantages?

I created a file in .csv format. I have something like 95 entries in the .csv file. I then open that with the POI editor that came with my 4250. I can save the file as an .mgln file on my laptop. I still have all the original entries in this file. When I load them into my GPS though only 49 are displayed, is that the limit that can be loaded into my GPS?

I just got a 3225 (Costco of course) and I have 2 questions surrounding the user POI files:

1) Do they have to be separate files? Seems silly i'd have to load a separate file when seaching. I'd hope it would be seemless with the delivered POI files.

I replaced the 1.3 mil POI that came with my 3225 with 6 mil POI I downloaded. But when I search for POI on my unit some results I get a duplicate result. Does anybody have the same problem? Is there a way to delete the duplicate? The 6 mil POI gives me the POI that I'm looking for that 1.3 mil POI can't.

Yes, I was able to download my POIs to my Magellen. Yes, I followed the directions to name the bmp file the same as the mgln file, "Starbucks." But, it still will not work. The directory on my SD card is CPOI. It will not let me make a sub-directory named "Starbucks." But, right now, those are the only 2 files there: i.e., the Starbucks.csv and the Starbucks.bmp. Anyone got any ideas?

Adding upodates

Magellan 4250 finally released new firmware upgrade, ver. 3.34. I've just updated mine.

We recently bought a Maestro 4040 and I've read that there is an update for the AAA Tour info.

Is there anywhere else that I can get the update without having to be an AAA/CAA member? We already have a similar plan through the dealership where we bought our truck this winter.

It's a bit of a drag not having the latest info on a newly purchased product.

I wanted to ask what qualifies as a data entry? I’m guessing it would be a POI with latitude and longitude the name and maybe description.

I just purchased Magellan Maestro 3225 from Costco for $149+tax+shipping. Prior to buying the Magellan 3225, I couldn't find much info on 3225 on the web. So I hope this "review" can help those of you interested in buying Magellan Maestro 3225. Since only other GPS I ever used is Garmin 650, I am making comments on Magellan 3225 with Garmin 650 as reference.

Has anybody purchase and installed the new map updates?

I got my Magellan Maestro 3225 North America from Costco for $149. I'm from Minneapolis and I'm looking for the Minnesota red light camera POIs. I appreciate if anyone has it to send me a copy.

Okay I don’t know if I’m the stupidest person in the world or what. I downloaded one POI in .csv format and imported it into the POI editor saving the file as a .mgln file. I saved it to my Magellan 4250. Looks like it works fine, it is a POI for the locations of the Hard Rock Cafes in North America.

Does anyone know how to add more icons in Magellan 4250?

I just bought the 4250 from Amazon.com. So far I like it and I'm comparing it to my 760 which is bigger, bulker and not portable. My only 'minor' complaints are the power button can be a challange when going from portable to plug-in mode, maps are out of date (over a year old including the AAA tourbook on AAA's site) and the poi database is definitely smaller than the 760's.

Is there a way to calibrate the touch screen on a Roadmate 700/760? Mine is off and I don't see anywhere to calibrate it. I am hoping there is a hidden menu somewhere I am not finding.

hello, i need help, i just bought two new magellan crossovergps in America but what i got is the 2500t version and it does not work with the Icelandic map. is there anything i can do to make it work like the European version of the Crossover. i am thankful for any help you could give me.

Hello everyone, just signed up. I've just bought a Magellan Maestro 3140 GPS.

I have two questions

1-BLUETOOTH: I've been able to pair the unit with my LG 150 cell phone but when I dial through the GPS, nothing happens. Do you have to subscribe to Bluetooth? Sorry for my ignorance but I have no experience with Bluetooth at all.
