We recently bought a Maestro 4040 and I've read that there is an update for the AAA Tour info.
Is there anywhere else that I can get the update without having to be an AAA/CAA member? We already have a similar plan through the dealership where we bought our truck this winter.
It's a bit of a drag not having the latest info on a newly purchased product.
Thanks,
Scott

Sorry, no.....not legally, at least.
The AAA information, however, was probably more accurate to begin with and should not go out of date as quickly either.

Magellan Maestro 4040 AAA updates
After somewhat disgusting time frames I finally got an answer from Magellan , you have to be a member of AAA to get the updated files as well as the complete file which there is only a part of on the unit as it comes from your vendor. Seems they are afraid to answer any questions I'm thoroughly disappointed with them and got a Tom Tom and they are more friendly but still not very helpful when you have problems Tom Tom is definitely more European orientated, So I have gone back to laptop and Microsoft Streets and Trips its more cumbersome but after using it for about 6 yrs has gone a long way and is more friendly to the user I still have the 4040 but its a wierd unit too hard to enter POI's ,plan trips, its just too basicEG ( Streets and Trips you can enter an address ,City or zip search if it finds it you click lat/long and bingo there they are

Well, yes, we knew you have to be a member of AAA.....a couple of months ago, at least. It may even say that in the user's manual.
If you decide to get rid of the 4040, let me know!
