POI projects

All,

All BofA ATM's and/or Branches in ME, NH, MA, CT, RI, NY and NJ are verified.

The list was at 9,515 entries last August and is now at 9,683 entries.

As I go through and make the changes, I am sorting by Zip Code. This not only makes it easier for me, but easier for you as well. I can find an entry much quicker and you can customize the file much easier.

On this website, they have several files for route 66.

"Traditional route planning software will hardly ever select old Route 66 on it's own as the proposed route. Therefore tricking such software to steer you on the right track is a lot of work. Adding places of interest on those maps completes the job into a useful tool while traveling the mother road."

A new occupation?

Hi Guys, I downloaded the Low Clearance & the Weigh Stations POI but I get nothing not even as I go by them can someone tell me what Im doing wrong if so can someone help me to do it right Thanks GPS'essers Wish Yall the best!!!

Is there a project out there for cell phone dead spots? I'm picturing either separate files for each carrier or a field in the file that gives carrier so we can filter it. I don't know that I mean out in the middle of nowhere, but certainly dead spots in metro areas should be doable.

For those who might be interested, I have created two new POI files of Masonic Lodges. One is for lodges located in the Grand Regristry of Alberta, the other is for Arizona. I hope this helps you in your visits.

Just goes to show 'ya.. NEVER follow the crowd.

Whether we want to admit it or not every city has an area that you would not want to take your family on a stroll down the street. You wouldn’t want to have a flat, break-down or have an accident in that part of town, especially after dark. I live in a retirement community with a low crime rate but when I go to a big city I don’t always know what areas to avoid.

It would be quite useful to have a POI list of all Subaru dealers and certified repair shops? I would think that it would be easy for Subaru of America (the USA branch of Subaru) to provide all Subaru dealers and, to become a certified repair shop there must be some type of process administrated by Subaru, so they should know these shops as well.

I found several locations not in the POI file yet. I only looked at the CSV file.

Hi, I'm starting up a Subway Restaurant POI if anybody is interested. I am starting with Oklahoma. I am new to this, so it might take me awhile.

I installed the Dunkin Donuts POI in my Garmin Nuvi 255W. The coordinates of the DD closest to my house are wrong and I tried to fix through Excel, and the reload in the Nuvi. The DD I fixed is no longer in the Custom POI. All I did was change a few numbers in the coordinates. Any ideas?

I have a Garmin nüvi 765t and am trying to load the Fifth Third Bank POI from this site. It is in the format .gpx.xml I downloaded and saved the file in a folder to then use the Garmin POI loader, but when I choose the folder where the file is located, it says there are no valid POI files in the selected folder. Do I have to do something special for this type of file?

First, let me say that the most accurate way to create a POI file is to be there with a GPS and record the L/L of the location, then transfer the data to the file.

I need the help from someone that works at Bank of America or someone that knows sombody that works there.

I made a request to BoA for a listing of all the ATM's and it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.

Does anyone have any ideas on building a data base that would presumably require input from multiple people? I have been using Streets and Trips feed up to my dash in my MH on a 15,000 mile trip. I rely on the location of KOAs and Big Rigs East , data bases downloaded from the POI-Factory, to decide where to stay each night.
