POI projects

I'm not a boater, so I don't know how this stuff works. BUT I'm working on a project to create a POI for all the Parish owned boat ramps in our Parish, to help workers find the ramps by road.

So I'd put the coordinates on the road leading to the ramp, right?

I am working with the owners of the site www.healthcar311.com on making a file for our site and theirs.

I have a file that they have made and I would like to have someone assist in the final stages of geo-coding the locations that the first process missed.

Who wants me to send you this file to finish? There are 13 locations in the file that need to have Coordinates located on.

I am new to this and I would love to have a POI file with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries in the US. I think I saw one for the Moose. When I travel I like to find the aeries. If some could help me with this I would appreciate it, or if you can tell me how to go about making one myself. I can get a list of all the aeries and addresses but i do not know how to create a cvs file.

After doing a whirlwind roadtrip through southern Colorado yesterday, I've been inspired to create a list of all Continental Divide crossings in the US (and then Canada, eventually).

I can get started with the major mountain passes w/ elevations, but I am wondering if there is a more comprehensive list of CD crossings that shows elevations?

Any help would be appreciated!

As I was working on the Dirt Stock car tracks project I noticed a number of go-kart tracks...is there any interest for that kind of project here? I would be willing to work on it.

Hi, does anyone have POI files with a list of pool halls? I'm looking for anything in the United States specifically California and Nevada. If not, I'll create one, is anyone interested in it? I'm hoping there are a couple of road players on this forum that can help me out a little with a list of the best action rooms.

I would appreciate learning how to make use of a radio POI file?

I have been finding that some of you, (I won't name names ) have been re-categorizing your files that are part of a POI Package.

If your project is part of a POI Package please do not put the individual files back under a category after I take them out. The only file that should be categorized is the front page, see the following example:

Hi all just wanted to let all of you know I just updated the UTAH KOA campgrounds the Lon./Lat.for the Fillmore KOA had the location in a different city from where it really is located.

The Anytime Fitness POI at http://www.poi-factory.com/node/10896 seems to imply that it contains all locations nationwide (US), however it seems to contain only East Coast locations. I wonder if the description could be modified to more accurately reflect the content?

Outside of my own zip code, it is hard for me to locate USPO mail drops. My Nuvi tells me where the post offices are located but they are few and far between.

The USPO says it does not have the lat/lon of each mailbox.

I've finished uploading all of the Dirt Stock car tracks for the U.S. by state. If you have any additions please let me know. There were some tracks that I wasn't able to get a lat and lon (especially in Tennessee for some reason).

I did some searching around and didn't see any POI files for Steak and Shake resturants anywhere. I'm looking at doing a file for Steak and Shake unless there is one hiding somewhere on the site. Steak and Shake is located in 21 states all in the eastern part of the US.

I have used Rest area stops some
I have tried to load these stops in SE US.
I down loaded individual states mostly submitted by ADCSUN.
I then modified the files and setup state abbreciations, highway numbers and kept all of the detail of facilities.
I actually made sub-folders for each Interstate Highway and combined all rest areas in several states onto that Highway that was provided.

My wife is mad about historic homes that offer tours and admission to the public. I thought she'd love to have a theme holiday where we can tour the country and visit them. My new Nuvi 750 would be ideal to plan a route for that purpose. Has anyone seen such a POI?
On such a long trip I might need to have my car serviced too so I also ask if there is a POI for Subaru dealers as well.

How do you find the locations of all the stores in the us? On the company page there is only a store locator. Do you guys like enter each zip code and add the stores to your list or is there something you that you do?
