Thai Food Restaurants Project Discussion

This would be my first POI file ownership. I've looked through the FAQs but didn't see anything specific. Do I just chime in and then start creating the file or is there another process or place for more info you can point me to?

I had some really great Thai food when my wife and I went to Thailand for two weeks in 2001. Too far to drive to though!

Sorry about the delay. Things got busy and this took a back burner.

I've uploaded GPX and CSV files with everything posted here to date as well as some others I pulled from the links provided upstream. I'll keep going through the online sources but this will get us started.

Keep posting your favorites too as it's some times difficult determining if the online links are current.

Looking over the list, I see a problem for lovers of good Thai food. Many (most?) of the restaurants are nominally Thai, but actually more Thai-ish. Thai is not about the heat, but about the balance (it's a Buddhist country). I guess it's a hopeless cause, but I won't be using this POI list, because it is sure to disappoint.

I've downloaded the csv file and will provide feedback as I can.

As a quick icon solution, I emailed a Thai flag icon to Miss POI to be released in the POI-Factory icon page. That could be used as an icon for these restaurant, pending something more sophisticated.

Hi Bill, the first thing to do would be to contact the current maintainer with the updates. If the file hasn't be updated in a long time, I'd suggest contacting the maintainer to see if you can take over the project. If they give the blessing, ask the POI administrators to change maintainership to you, and then you'll be able to upload the new file.

has anyone worked on this restaurant POI? I have ate here. But I do not see it on any GPS navigators

I am new to all of this but, when I downloaded the Thai Restaurant POIs I realized that it did not have quite a few places near where I live (Phoenix area of Arizona). How do I submit those that are near here to get them included in the POI file?

I can, of course, add them to my copy of the csv but I thought it might help others if I could get them added to the general list.

I was not even aware there was a thread for Thai places until that last post. If it's a POI that comes back to life, I'll throw in some from the Chicago land area.

Of course the file hasn't been updated since Nov 2010 so he/she might not be active.
