POI projects

Is there a complete listing in USA for Subway in every state. The current one doesn't show some states such as Louisiana or Miss.

It would be nice to have a POI file on restaurants that have ALL of these qualities for each listing.

3. Cozy
4. linen table cloths and napkins
5. Uniformed waiters and or waitresses
6. Carpeted (clean)
7. Great full bar
8. Great service
9. Great food that can be raved about.
10. Not a chain

Okay, so most probably know poifriend.com shut down on June 30th and it's who Tim Hortons had partnered with to supply the POI file for all the Tim Hortons locations in Canada and the U.S. All downloadable from the Tim Hortons website and it was awesome!

I frequently visit many different auto parts stores like Advance Auto Parts, Autozone, NAPA, Pep Boys, etc. in cities around me, not always known by me (GPS used often to get to some).

I see many of our users creating/posting new sound alerts today and just wanted to say Thank You. Is that a new "task of the week?" I sampled a few and the Stinky Air 2 Alert is a cute one!

I have one day to exolore the south rim of the grand canyon. How useful will a GPS be? Are there any GPS tours available for the Garmin 780 that would be useful or it is just drive stop and look? I need to be as efficent as possible to maximize the little time I have available. Are there certain overlooks that are better than others and one best for the sunset?

Has anyone developed a POI for USFS Camground. While riding I find USFS Campgrounds provide a pleasant stop.

I think that a laser tag project would be awesome. If someone was really ambitious they could also include some kind of symbol for places that have unlimited laser tag on some days. Or if really feeling into this go to all the places in their area and rank them.

I wouldn't mind helping out with the research if someone wanted to do something like this.

I have a 3790T and it gave me 1 free month of Photo Radar. My month is up and it is still working but now I have downloaded the file from here. What happens if I install it now with POI loader? Will there be a conflict? Should I remove Garmin's data first. What steps please?

Hello I was wondering if anybody can assist me in understanding why my poi is not being found during a search. I had a few poi's at poifriend, but when they closed I decided to bring a couple over here. Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures. Ghost Hunters was already here but had not been updated in quite some time. My version of GH is fully updated right up to present.

Has anyone considered building a POI of the state roads that run alongside the Appalachian Trail? That would be a great motorcycle ride! I've seen several folks talk about how cool it would be in generic article searches on the internet, but I've not seen a POI file.

I travel quite a bit and enjoy listening to talk radio. I downloaded the Rush Station data base and found a large number of errors in station location.

So, I have begun cleaning up the file to represent as closely as practical, the actual pinpoints for all 570+ stations as shown by the Rush download and the Locations given in the Station Locator Database.

In the state capitols POI file, the Georgia entry is wrong.

It is correct in identifying the capitol city as being Atlanta, but the Lon/Lat (-83.224599, 33.078476) point to a historic Georgia capitol almost 100 miles away in Midgeville.

Here are the correct coordinates for the current GA capitol building:

-84.38815, 33.74912

Hope this is in the right forum & hasn't been discussed yet... I live in AB, Canada and have recently started seeing McDonalds advertise for Free WiFi... Starbucks and others have been doing it for a while and I don't know if McDonalds has been doing it as well in the U.S. for some time or not.

Is there a program out there that will create maps that are suitable for offset printing (in other words, maps with a dpi of around 300, rather than the 72 dpi common for internet images). I want to show cities, major roads, and POI.

Love your site, new to Garmin, new to POI, you name it just simply NEW.

Yesterday I was able to create some POI for a trip I am taking using the Poi Manager - today I go in to work some more on it and it doesn't connect, it says "unconnected" but I don't know how to connect, there is no log on/in, and I am lost.

Does anyone know what to tell me to do besides take a hike?

The Zumo 660 that comes with some of the HD motorcycles has an icon for Harley Davidson locations and it is different from the standard POI files under Extras, etc.
Where can I find the file and can I update it like any other POI file?
