Garmin has just release an update 5.50 dated March 26th.

Garmin updated the C550 Unit Software to Ver 5.5 on March 26th 2007. Thats just 10 days after the last update.

Changes made from version 4.30 to 4.40:

Daylight saving changes for United States
Fixed possible route calculation error in routes involving Cul De Sacs
Added support for Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Lithuanian, Romanian, and Serbian pre-recorded voices

I have just bought the new Garmin Mobile 10 with the Mobile XT software for my PDA/phone. It works great, but I am wondering if anyone has found a good mount for attaching a Cingular 8125 to a Motorcycle.

Is there a way to back up the original firmware ?

Planning to upgrade to latest firmware, usually
its good to keep a copy of the original just in case.

Got some questions for experienced ppl.
(if NOT using the web updater)

1) Do you download the update directly to the device or
the SD card in the gps

2)Is there a way to downgrade to a lower firmware version?

I have the Chevy Truck with XM antenna, and the Onstar antenna. It also has one just plain radio antenna.
Garmin has a GXM 30 antenna for recieving weather/ Traffic info.
I would like to know if anyone knows of a splitter that you could put on the radio, then subscribe to the weather/traffic signal. I really don't want 4 antennas.

Hello,
I loaded my i5 with Red Light Camera data and it accurately displays a textual alert on the screen.

However I have one problem:
1. I also uploaded a mp3 with the red light camera poi. But i don't get the speech warning when the visual alerts are displayed. Is the text to speech functionality available on the i5?

Neither are working for me for about the past half hour - the Update-downloads web site worked fine earlier this morning for me...I hope this means they're about to release the update for my Nuvi350.

Just bought the Garmin c550. Connect the audio output to my car stereo thru a FM transmitter. But, the mp3 playing on the GPS is lack of treble sound. Is there way to adjust the treble level on c550? Or, will the next version audio player include such feature? I already set the treble on my stereo to max and it still sounds not good.

I have a problem with the volume levels not being of equal tone. My 360 is real quiet on the navigation prompts and really LOUD when listening to MP3's. I have tried both the internal speaker and the head phone connection. Both have the same problem.

I have the Nuvi 350 with the GTM-12 traffic antenna. I also live in the Washington DC area.

I just went on my first trip to work with the traffic service working today and I have to say I'm disappointed.

It seemed like the FM traffic service only has information on the big highways.

I purchased my Garmin C330 specifically for the speedometer function. I have an old British Sports Car. See the Icon. It has a MPH speedometer and not a very accurate one at that. I have tested the Garmin in my van and it is spot on for speed. I can now mount the unit into the Lotus and travel up to the legal speeds without fear of getting nabbed.

I just bought a Nuvi 350 with 4.3 FW less than a month ago. It would be very sad to know if the product would be discontinued in the next few months. Does anyone on here know if Garmin is working on a 4.5 FW? Hown long would they continue supporting a discontinued product?

* Changed the software version number from 2.2.0.4 to 2.2.1.0
* Fixed problem which prevented the update of aviation data using AvdWebUpdater with handheld aviation devices such as the GPSmap 296.

I paid the $5.00 to download the red light cameras because I was impatient. Do I have to pay again when future updates come out? This question has probably been answered before. Pardon a newbie to Garmin and to this site.

Is there anyway to increase POI the memory of i5? I think it is 2mb now. Is there anyway to have it read POI info from a card? Thanks.

Does anyone have the c580? Have you noticed any coverage issues with the MSN Direct. It seems that I can be right in the central part of the coverage and the signal is either there or not there. Do they do updates every so often and then discontinue the feed or is it a constant feed?
