Hello All,
I am new here and also new with GPS. I bought my first GPS last week - garmin nuvi 350. I am just wondering if I can do interactive POI icons with this model. Its nice to know what's in the vicinity while I am driving (i.e. restaurant, etc or from personal POI). Is this possible? Thanks a lot!
Yes, you can
If you're zoomed in on the map far enough, you will see icons for the preloaded POIs that are near you - or, on the main screen, hit 'where to', and make further selections based on what you're looking for - like food, lodging, etc. and select further on sub categories - and you will see the 50 places closest to you. You can then select one, and add it as a 'Via' on an active route, or select it as a destination.

What do you mean by "Interactive"?
Custom POI's will work on the nuvi 350 according to Garmins web site.

far enough to see the POI icons for the preloaded ones, or even your added ones, all you get when you 'touch' the icon is its name - if you want more than that, you need to use 'where to' on the menu, and drill in as I describe above. And of course you don't want to do any of this while you're trying to drive too...
