Garmin just annonced some new models. If you want a 660 minus bluetooth, the Nuvi 650 is for you. It's just like they did for the 350/360. Same model, one has BT one does not.

Just a warning for anyone that hasn't upgraded their traffic service firmware lately. You may not want to.

I installed the upgrade and during a recent trip noticed that the traffic warnings on the main navigation map were gone. You can still get traffic problem details by going into the menus but it's not going to warn you of traffic on your route anymore.

Just wondering, Has anyone tried to modify (hack) into your GPS and if so what was it you were tring to do and what was the outcome?!?

My traffic alerts do not appear on my main navigation page. Each time, I have to go the menu and look for a yellow exclamation point and click on it to get traffic alerts. Does yours work the same way or is it possible to get the alerts on the main map when driving? Thanks.

New POI Loader-Beta

Changes made from version 2.4.0.0 Beta to 2.4.0.1 Beta:

1. Added support for Garmin Mobile XT.
2. Added support for magenta as transparency color in 256 color bitmaps.

I’m a newbie to this forum. I just purchased a Garmin c550. I read on one of the threads to request the MapSource DVD from Garmin… I did that, Thanks! Does the DVD contain everything I need or do I still need to purchase the MapSource software?

I don't know if anyone has ever asked this, I couldn't find it under search. I have a question:

I want to recommend a GPS for my non-techie friend (another female), and perhaps get one for my mom (who is very non-techie--like doesn't have an email account). I know they will not go online to update the software.

Looks like there's no flip-up antenna, and I don't think they use the same chipset as the 300+ Nuvis - otherwise, they look to be similar to the rest of the Nuvi series, with better map coverage as you step up in models.

I got my 350 for not much more than the MSRP on the site for the 200.

I bought my c550 and have loved the gps abilities.

My problem at the moment is with the microphone. When i try and talk to my friends using the bluetooth abilities of the unit they say i sound like i'm in a far off distance.
I have moved the unit all the way to less then a foot from my mouth and they still say they can hear all my car noises but very little of me.

Is there a way to move mp3 files around once loaded into the nuvi 350?

I wanted to start this Forum to help users to either select the proper GPS or answer their questions about own concerns. I have several years years of experience with Garmin products specifically streetpilot line and Nuvi, also Magellan GPS

Bought a c330 - like it, have used it briefly, but now have a great deal on a Nuvi 350 available. Has anyone used both and any thoughts on the comparison between the two? Superficially size, and the ability to put POI's on the SD card are two pluses. I dont care so much for the MP3, etc etc bells and whistles. Thoughts? Thanks all for any and all input....

Well, after extensive research and shopping I recently purchased the nuvi 660 for a trip from Naples, Fl to Lancaster, Pa (driving Mother-in-Law's car back home). 1200 miles and 19 hours drive time. Since I got it only shortly before the trip, I had to learn it on the fly. Fairly easy to figure out though some functions and features required going back to the manual.

I noticed that there was an audio update(vers. 2.6) for the c330. I'm not going to install it because I don't need Brazilian Portuguese, but it got me thinking.

With the addition of a new language, I would assume that the new audio files will take up more space than the old set. If this is true, does this eat into available POI space?

Maybe I'm thickheaded, but I don't understand the purpose of the "detour" button.

The manual says "the unit calculates a new route and provides you with new instructions. The c330 attempts to get you back on your original route as soon as possible".

Garmin had plenty of time to implement the DST patch, why is it available for some devices and not others.

I figure all they need to do is put up with complaints for a few weeks which will buy them until Autumn to correct the issue.

I was wondering. I read on the info package that came with my Garmin. That I need to keep a set of battery within the unit to save Custom Waypoints. But my question, How long do I have between battery changes to change out the battery before all the memory is depleted.
I don't think that was mentioned in the User Guide.

First of all, I may need to add the Krispy Kreme POI file with proximity alerts. That would be useful (and fattening) on road trips.

I am having an issue when I switched to the beta version of the loader, and put my files into subfolders. On my c330, I see my subfolders, but when I try and access the actual files, I get an hour glass and then it returns to the main favorites menu.

i have a c 330 i downloaded the redlight camera file and it works great when i go to the custom poi button on the c 330 i can see the first 50 redlight cameras i then downloaded i file that had all the publix stores in my area now when i go to the poi button i see the publix stores and no redlight camera did this overwrite the redlight cameras on the gps or are they still there .

Does anyone know if the Nuvi line has stereo or mono speakers?

My 360 has the holes in the case for the "look" of stereo speakers, but I only hear sound from one side.
