Hi all,
I have a nuvi 200. I keep getting this error on my screen when I start up. "Can't unlock maps" I got this after playing with mapsource for a while. I tried all kinds of things like putting maps on the sd card and on the unit it's self, but I still get the error. Not thinking ahead or asking anyone first, I plugged it in to the usb and deleted the garmin folder. Now it tells me that there is no basemap. Can anyone give me any ideas how to reinstall the basemap.

You need to call Garmin. They are the only ones that can help you.
In the future, it's advisable to back up the entire GARMIN drive to your computer before you delete any files from you unit. That way you will have the files. Also, you should know exactly what each file is for before you delete anything.
Also, unless you are intentionally trying to load maps, you should not try to send maps to a unit with the maps preinstalled. Having done this, however, and gotten the error that you got, you would have wanted to look for the GMAPSUPP.IMG file. This is the file that gets created when you send supplemental maps to your unit.
