Automatic time zone detection ?

I thought the Nuvis are supposed to adjust their time based on which time zone I am in. I thought they can figure that out from the current GPS location. Is that not true? My Nuvi kept east coast time all the while I was driving around in mountain time zone.

Lots of issues...

retired posted a good thread with some thoughts - they are way down at the bottom.

One thing not covered in that thread was that timezone behavior with respect to daylight saving time is not consistent. So if you were driving through Arizona and you entered a zone which did not observe daylight saving time, that information would have to be programmed into your nuvi's map data. Not saying it's impossible, but it would be really annoying if you had to wait 2 years for a map update after each time Congress changes its mind.
