Review of Nuvi 670 used on holiday

We have just returned to the UK after 2 weeks touring New England. We thought we would give our opinion of the 670.

We updated the unit with the version 8 USA maps prior to leaving the UK.

We landed at Boston and toured Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Both my wife and I thought the 670 was excellent. Except for a few small instances (detailed below) it got us to where we needed to be with ease. This included driving in Boston. I pre loaded all of the B&B information and we arrived at the door without exception. The speaking of the street names was very good and helpful. The finding of the maps after turning the 670 on was very quick, never more then 15/20 seconds.

1) We tried to get to the White mountain cog railway from the built in POI. When it said "arriving at cog railway on your left" we were 10.2 miles from where the actual cog railway was.

2) Again from the built in POI we asked for a Walmart near Kennebunkport, we ended up at a school.

3) On Bar Harbor we put directions in for Seal Harbor, it said 18.5 miles away and about 20 mins to get there. The road sign direct in front of us said 7 miles and it took 10 mins.

Apart from the above everthing was great and we were very pleased.

One question, when driving to Bar Harbor the screen showed the land on part of the route in Yellow, what does this indicate.

Also I was sent two free update discs for the version 8 maps, we have of course only used one. Any ideas on what to do with the second one. It seems a pity to waste it. Do we give away.

I could be mistaken but I

I could be mistaken but I believe the updates are unit specific so I don't think anyone else could use them.
