Are there any companies out there selling "Topo" maps that are compatable with the Nuvi 660 and maybe come on an SD card. It looks to me like the only units that will accept "Topo" maps are the hand held ones.

I noticed that when my father and I both got our Garmin's (I have a 350, he has the 660) they come from the factory with WAAS turned OFF. I turned it on, of course, in both units - thinking about the accuracy. But then I started thinking... why would they not have this on out of the box?

Here is the question: I just got an SD card with European maps. My Nuvi 660 recognizes it and will show me where I am.

Has anyone been able to purchase one? So far, I can't find them. I wonder when they will be released.

I have a trucker friend considering a nuvi 660. When vehicle selection is "truck" does it actually know which roads do not allow semis? Not much info is available on Garmin's site. GPS's made special for truckers that take all this into consideration are quite expensive, $2000 and up.

Hi, just bought Nuvi 200 and i noticed that while navigating, the map ( screen ) moved once every 2 second. For example, i would passed Park Ave. for about half block and the nuvi screen still show that im not at Park Ave. yet. Is this normal for Garmin GPS or do i have a defective unit? I use to have TomTom and the screen is very fast and accurate. Please help.

Does anyone else have a problem hearing the voice prompts on a Nuvi 360? I can bearly hear anything. I have it hooked upto my Ipod connector on my stereo system so that it comes through my car speakers, but I have to use the radio in aux mode and can't listen to music when it is that mode... Any solutions?

A couple of months ago when everyone was trying to get the free 2008 City Navigator NT maps, I tried and failed. After several friendly emails back and forth to Garmin, the tech said for me to fax my receipt. After doing that, he came back and said their policy was 60 days and mine was within 90 days. As everyone knows here, that XX days is a moving target it seems.

to garmin c530 what file tipe - CSV or GPX

I was wondering how one would go about creating a whole new voice for the Garmin 350? Anyone try to do this?

I would like to take out "Jill" or "Emily" and put in my favorite lady's voice... (my wife).

But have not found our the concept of how to do that.

Any suggestions?

Attaching Nuvi 350 to my PC, I see a 5k file name Nuvi Drive in the Garmin folder. It is called Nero Photoshop Viewer. I use photshop, but don't remember doing anything related to my Garmn software.

Has anyone seen this, or know why it is there?

I have loaded a number of differenct categories on my nuvi 660 and now I am requesting some information. When in simulation mode is there any way to speed up the simulation?

I downloaded the POI loader and then downloaded a set of POI's. They ended up in my extra folder on my GPS and are entitled custom POI's. Is there other software so that I have more control - ie...naming the set of POI's or is this not possible with the nuvi 250w? Thank you for any info you may have.

so I just placed my order from costco.com on the Garmin Nuvi 360 and I can't wait to get it....

Another newbie question

In the short while I have had my Nuvi 200, I have noticed that while the built-in POI database has a (relatively) complete list of some stores, it only has a small handful of others (for example Home Depot).

Is this normal, or is this a problem with either the 2008 maps or the Nuvi 200?

I just recently got a new HP Laptop. Can I connect my Nuvi 660 to it via the bluetooth to transfer files? or are they a different type of reciever? I havent been able to get them to see each other just yet.

I am confused about the new 700 line that is coming out. The 760 appear to support two traffic receivers. The TMC Traffic receiver and the MSN Traffic receiver. What is not clear is when you decide to purchase, do you have a choice... Or, do you have to take what they decide to bundle in and if you want the other you have to go spend the extra money for the other receiver?
