Garmin talk

I have noticed there is an issue with the "Where To" and then "My Current Route".

So here it goes:
You have a route going and you are traveling down the road and you hit "where to" and "near" "my current route" and then you go to the "custom POI", and "Culvers". So now you have the nearest 50 of the choice selected. But some are on the route and some are not even close to the route.

Anyone else having this problem.

With regard to a Garmin c330, is there a way to extract the decimal degree latitudes and longitudes from points that have been saved as "Favourites" in "My Locations" rather than Custom POIs? I'd like to remove some of my "Favourites" but don't want to lose the geographic co-ordinates. Cheers.

Hi - I have an N370, so both US and European maps. I am normally using one or the other, not both. But I do not want to take them off because I fear I would forget to put on, get screwed up with an unlock, or the billion other things that happen when one is leaving on a trip.

I am looking for a good deal on a 760 or 660. I know HSN had the 750 for 299.

I have a nuvi 350 that came with a sample file of the Language guide.
The sample suggests it would be very useful to have the complete language guide for use in a foriegn country or just to get a head start for learning a foreign lauguage.

Hello all, I recently got a new Garmin Nuvi 360, and already I have found that streets which have been made in the last couple years are not on my Nuvi, it even includes old streets which have been torn up. For example, HWY 40 in STL.... Is there a way to get Garmin to give me a free update?? Thanks!

Is the Nuvi 880 out on the market yet? If so, does anyone have it and do you like it? Thanks for the info.

I just got my first GPS it's a nuvi 660 and I was wondering is there a way to make the POI's larger? They are so small it's hard to tell what they are on the screen. I did a search and didn't find anything on this subject.

i have a nuvi 360, and i was wondering if it is possible to always have POIs visible, or if it is possible to have only certain POIs visible? we went on a driving trip this weekend across AZ, and it would be nice to know if there are certain POIs within a few miles of our route, whether they be restaraunts, gas stations, or interesting sites. thanks.

I was driving into work this morning and several times the gray box message pops up "XM reception not available" or something to that effect. Anybody have any idea what the heck that was all about?

Any ideas on whether the magnetic clasp on a case for the Nuvi will affect the electronics inside. I don't know how the gyro in the GPSr works and don't want to mess it up.

IIRC its not a good idea to have magnets around your electronics, especially receivers, HDDs etc. But then again the cases for PDAs, Blackberry's etc have magnetic clasps.....

Could someone see if they can locate "Veganopolis" in Portland, OR on their older Garmin maps. It doesn't show on the NT 2008 maps. However I had a friend navigating using his (at least) 2 year old Magellan and it shows up on that.

I've loaded POI files into my Garmin several times. I'm using the Garmin POI Loader and it's default for loading states "install new poi onto your device"

How do I keep files that I've previously loaded? I have not selected "remove all previously installed poi's"

I've seen this feature showing on Costco's website, but i hardly see the screen clearly under the strong sunlight.I bought it from Dell during Boxing Week. Does anyone know why?

Just got the 750... seems to work great no problems with it other than the nearest freeway onramp just got closed 2 months agao and the 750 keeps asking me to take that entrance... other than that it works great

If I look at the specs for my GPSr, on the Garmin website, it states that it has 500 waypoints.
Can someone explain exactly what this really means?

Does anyone know if any of the features such as POI Alerts or Tourguides work in the Garmin Nuvi 200. The Garmin instruction manual doesn't speak of any of this.
