splash screen 330,ive tried to load a new pic following the node i was told too and all i ended up with is a start and splash screen of the same thing i have ximage downloaded and changed the pix size and changed it to bmp file and it wont got to the gps,any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is easy to get frustrated when you go deep into the different sub menus on the Nuvi then try to get back to the "Main Menu" page. One has to press the "Back" key over and over until the "Main Menu" is finally reached.
Solution:
When you are done what you are doing in the sub-menus, press and hold the "Back" key for 1 to 2 seconds, it will take you straight back to the "Main Menu".

My owners manual says that I should have the antenna for my nuvi 660 parallel to the ground but would it not reason that I would get better reception if it was straight up and down in the truck? Maybe this is a stupid question but what the heck, you don't ask you don't get. (LOL)

If you are adding custom POIs can you setup the alerts to only pop up for some of them?

I have a 650 and 750 and I only see a choice to turn on or off alerts for customs POIs. I don't want alerts for most of them but it would be nice to have them in the unit in case I need them. On the other hand I would want them for red-light cameras.

ok, i have a kinda dumb question :

when i go on a long trip and want to load poi's, do i have to make one big file or can i load the different files ?

Nuvi 760 keeps prompting me to load custom POIs from SD card onto the internal memory. I think I've read somewhere that one can choose "do not ask anymore". For the life of me, I can't seem to locate that button. Can someone please help.

Just wondering what keeps the nuvi (660) operating faster/better because i have all the europe/us maps both travel guides and the language guide. Right now on the card.

i just read that you can change the start screen on the 330 if so how? i cant find info

The nuvi worked out pretty slick on this trip. I used it on the plane to track the trip which was pretty fun. I was interested in how long the battery could last. Hello everyone, great site you guys have here. I bought my C340 with the new 2008 city navigator map on it, which was great. I use the gps for pizza delivery and some of the streets/neighborhoods are not listed.

I have had my Garmin StreetPilot 2730 for over a year now. I have updated the map, added a number of POIs, added favorites, created and saved routes, etc. I have never downloaded maps from anywhere other than Garmin Mapsource. I have read that it is possible to download other maps onto it. I am just wondering what sort of maps I might want to download.

When I flip open the antenna on my nuvi 350, a pop-up window will say "GPS turned off (for use indoors) ok". And there is no signal bar appearing at the up left corner. This happens even if I am outdoors and have full line of sight to the sky. Now I can't use my nuvi 350 at all.

I was wondering why my POI's dont show up while Im driven around. I though they would be on there like way points. Or am I wrong on that. Im using the Nuvi 680.

Does anyone know if the LOCATION / Angle where you have the traffic receiver for the Nuvi 660 located will affect the signal? I recently added a splitter to my power outlet in my truck so that I could have two sockets open (1 for my phone and the other for the Nuvi)and it seems like since I did this my traffic updates have been less frequent?! Anyone have any take on this?

I have a Garmin streetpilot c330. It accepts custom POI's. When I put the POI's on the GPS I can see them, But they are not visible on the SD card . Does it save to the Garmins Internal memory, or the SD card?

I have a Nuvi 680 and was wondering if you can load more than one POI file onto the unit. It seems that when I load a new file, the old one is overwritten. Is this normal? For example I was trying to load a speed trap POI file, and then a Choice Hotel POI file. When I'm done, it always seems to be the last POI file that I loaded that ends up on the unit.

I recently returned from the Dominican Republic. I love driving there but I must caution anyone that does not have nerves of steel and 360 degree vision not to engage in the life threatening practice of driving there unless you have experience driving in other Latin American countries where the are no rules of the road that are ever enforced.

well at the advise of Best Buy personnel I purchased the DVD upgrade 2008 NT to try and get Canada on my nuvi 200

and his advise was bogus and does not work. So I am out the 80 some bucks it cost me to have this done.

Anyone need this I can let you have if to half price since it did not work for me.

After making some bluetooth changes on my Nuvi 760, suddendly I notice Webupdater offering an undate "GPS Chipset G" This first occurred just today. Is anyone else seeing this also? I'm a bit afraid to load it. BTW my unit indicates it has SIRF InstanFix technology, so I assume it has the SIRF chipset.
