I found the following info in mapsource help. I gave it a try and it works great.

You can add customized symbols for your waypoints. MapSource includes 8 default custom waypoint symbols located on your computer in "My Documents\My Garmin\Custom Waypoint Symbols." You can open these symbols with a graphic editor and use them as templates for creating your own symbols.

Hi - the manual says that for first time acquisition of satellites, have the antenna flap open to the 90 degree position. But thereafter, apparently one re-acquires at the 180 degree position. Would acquiring after a long jump at 90 degrees work better?

I just got a nuvi 660 and I was wondering if anyone knows any tips or things that I can do to trick it out a bit?

while the three custom icons available on the site work as advertised, the icons it generates for me unfortunately suffer from a persistent masking problem.

Im currently using the nav mat. It works well but sometimes the suction fails. I'm thinking about cementing it to the mat. I would simply put the whole setup in the trunk when not in use. Has anyone gone that route. Any suggestions?

I have a 200W and am curious if there are any other sources of maps than Garmin. And can they be loaded with the SD flash?

Just thought I share this info. You've got the cool Nuvi gadget, but how you can make it better. It's possible to connect your Nuvi to your car audio system with a few purchased supplies. converts the CD Changer port of your factory radio into an auxiliary input.

Hello to everyone. Just purchased my 200w and it looks like a real winner. I should be able to get alot of good stuff from this site as well. May be jumping the gun here, but haven't found any sort of file or folder in the unit for voices. Really haven't had the time to play with it while in the car, but a search at home found nothing. What am I missing?

Does the 200W have the capability of displaying icons? I'v loaded a number of them with POI's but see nothing but the POI name.

I'm building a .gpx file for Port City Java Cafes and need a .bmp and .mp3. Any help would be appreciated. The link is to the web site to help with the .bmp. It would be very cool if it looked like their logo.

trying to get a new poi on the site and it wants a log/lat. number in decimals ,i typed in as it is on the gps and it wont take it ,it say it must be in usa or canada ,any suggestions?

I called Garmin to get the latest map update on December 31. They put the order in. I checked on the status last week, they told me it would be at least a month before it ships. How can it take that long?

hi, I was just wondering if anywone else has had this problem, I turned my nuvi 200w on the other day and I could not get past my password screen. upon a closer look, the touch screen was acting up!!

Just when I thought that I had this figured out, I found again that I don't have it figured out. I created a poi file with 387 rows in the *.csv file, but only 24 show up when I go to Custom POI files and open it and "arrow down" through the listings. Does anybody know why? I have a nuvi 200.

I have a 530 and asked for and received a copy of the 2008 map update. Because I need to have both the US and Canada I wanted to load Canada to an SD card. Before I erased the existing maps on the GPSr I wanted to be sure that the new maps would include certain highway updates. Here is what I found on the latest map source (Dec 4, 2007):
