I'm having trouble installing the garmin POI Loader. After downloading the latest version, 2.7.1, I get the following message: "This is an unsupported OS version. This application requires Windows XP SP2 or greater". I'm running Windows 7. I've tried running "Windows Compatibility" tool, no luck.

i tried to download a software update for my kenwood kna g510 sd reader.( 4.10 ) after downloading it and puting the card in the unit i can not get the unit to recognise the software.

is there something else i need to put on the sd card for the unit to recognise the update.

if you have this information please be specific as i'am not a computer expert.

How do you add "Custom POI's" icon to the "Where to" menu on the Nuvi2555LMT?

my 1490's memory is getting full. So I inserted a 1GB card and placed all my POI files on it.
The questions are:
- What can I delete from the internal memory?
I have already deleted most of the Text\ language files.

- Will the 1490 find the POI files on the SD card automatically or do I need to configure something?

- What other folders can I move to the SD card?

I just purchased my first Garmin, a 2555. I like it, but dont like the fact that I cant seem to control which of the POI categories display while I am driving.

Is there a way to change the defaults so I can see all my desired POI icons?

Is this the same on other Garmins, or do they allow you to select the POIs that display on the map?

I just purchased a Nuvi 3490lmt. I understand it has lifetime 3d traffic. I am also getting an Android phone to use to connect to the "Smartphone Link" services.
What I can't find out is, what's the difference between the existing 3d traffic and the Live Traffic.

I have a Nuvi 660 that has been acting up for sometime now. So my wife and I decided to purchase a new GPS for an upcoming trip in April.

We decided on purchasing a Nuvi 1450LMT. On my 660 I have a memory card installed that I had the Red Light Camera poi loaded on to it. I once subscribed here to gain access to the red light camera poi.

Can't find the answer whether the 3490lmt displays current speed while in navigation mode. Any help would be appreciated.

I have the language guide on an SD card. I copied it on my computer and then I switched out the LEX_PKG on my Garmin. When I started the Garmin back up the program was locked Is there any way to unlock this program? There was one file on the card that I didn't put on the GPS the gmapsupp.uni because there was not a file to switch it out with.

Since the etrex 10, 20, 30 came out the used prices for the older models have dropped a lot from a year ago when I looked. So, I just picked up a mint condition etrex vista hcx for $140 w/case, charger, microSD, etc.

When I download POI to a microSD card for my Garmin, I get the following error message for some files.
“There is a data format error on line (the numbers vary) of file (file location). The data in the file will be written, but no more data can be read from this file.”

Does anyone know how to transfer my Favorites from my 765T to my new 2360LMT???

I read somewhere that copying the current.gpx file might do it, but I tried that and it didn't work.

Any suggestions?

I may be attending the Minneapolis Auto Show soon. Does anybody happen to know if Garmin has their products on display at these type of events?

New user here...
POI files download to the 1450 but the information is not displayed. Under the 1450 POI icon there are no new icons. I must have done something wrong. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

In the past I'd get the standard "lost satellite reception" and my GPS would show my location as being just inside the entrance to the tunnel until I regained satellite reception after leaving the tunnel. QMT specifically.

I updated my maps to 2012.4. I think there was a software update at the same time.

My Garmin is having issues. It will turn off, re-boot or go into computer mode with the car charger pluged into it. Sometimes it will do it continually and other times it will work normally.
Does anyone know if it's a bad cord or if the unit is going bad.
It's working right when plugged into the computer with the USB cable.

Changes made from version 7.50 to 7.60:

Added support for a second map on an SD card.
Improved route calculation logic.
Fixed an error that sometimes caused water map features to not appear on the turn list.
Fixed an error that caused the device to find no results when the user changed state or province during address searches (2010 maps only).

Okay, so I'm new here. I have downloaded a few POI files for my nuvi 205w and installed them without much hassle. I ask about SOX because I am unsure if I need to know about it and if I do need to know about it, then what exactly do I need to know. Sorry if this is found in a faq or something. I did look for it, but had no luck finding the info. Point it out to me if it is there please.
