Alphabetized List of POI Files (browser display problem)

When I go to this list and scroll down it, when I get into the "H" area it starts to run together and on top of each other, making it impossible to read or access these files. Any thoughts as I have tried several times, same results. If someone could post this as a file, maybe I can download and access. Thanks

Not sure

why your having that problem but I just went and everything worked well.

It's something at your end thats not working properly. rolleyes

How were you scrolling

I just went to
http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/alpha
and scrolled 3 ways

I used the wheel on my mouse

I did a left click and drug the button on the right side bar

I did page downs

I did not notice anything like you describe.

.

In Firefox 11 under Windows when I look at

http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/alpha

the background image (sheet-middle-top.gif) disappears toward the end of the "H" entries. The list continues and the links are active. The display is not mangled but it is a bit strange: when I mouse over a link it becomes underlined but the underlining persists after I move the mouse pointer away.

It looks like a CSS thing. Ah, the joys of tracking down browser compatibility issues.

Alphabetized List of POI

You are correct. I am using Foxfire and changed to IE and it works fine.

Thanks to all for you help.

Opera 11 and IE 9

I checked the page using the latest Opera and IE, both display properly.

Firefox 11 works fine for me.

I am also using XP pro sp3. I do not have a issue.

odd color change for me in Firefox

I just repeated my scrolling mentioned several posts above using Firefox and had ro problem with readability but did find that at a variable point in the scrolling, there appeared a point where the backgound of both the list in the left pane and the color in the right pane changed to a gray color (versus white behind the list and beige for the right pane). The demarcation point was different as I scrolled up and down the try and isolate the change and, perhaps, the reason for it.

Looked at the listing
http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/alpha
in Google Chrome and it worked fine

Same issues with Firefox 11 under Windows

I can confirm that I experience the same issues. The backgrounds change toward the end of the "h"'s and, once that happens, any link I mouse-over becomes and remains underlined.

Weird! rolleyes

Thanks. I had not noticed this before.

Yup, it does look like

Yup, it does look like there's a glitch with how that particular page displays in Firefox.

I cleaned up a couple little HTML issues on the page earlier today, but I suspect there's some sort of CSS issue that's showing up with the large number of items on the page.

JM

combo

pwohlrab wrote he doesn't have a problem with Firefox while viewing the alphabetical POI page, I suspect the ones having a problem may have a combination of Firefox, monitor, screen resolution, and graphic card that causes the weird display and not just Firefox.

This looks like the same problem (Firefox bug):

Firefox 11 works fine here

I just went to the link posted by others,

http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/alpha

and see a beautiful, perfectly alphabetized list, and I'm using Firefox 11 (W7-64).

Using FF 11, W7-64 as well, back ground just goes from white to blue around the Ho Jo's files. No big deal.

Garbled Text

BTW, I can recreate the issue with garbled text (overlapping links) by narrowing the Firefox window until the scroll bar appears at the bottom. Then things get really interesting when scrolling down past the cutoff point.

???

I narrowed down the Firefox window until horizontal scroll bar appears..... Still no troubles.... at all narrow or wide.

Using an Intel Mobile 965 Chipset in Dell Laptop.

I then tried IE32, then IE64....

I see no difference between them and FF11

P.S. I use FF because a beta site I frequent specifies FF... They've been having too many corrupted checksums with IE on large downloads...

Thanks and answer to Problem

Found my problem and may be for others. I am using Foxfire, XP and Pack3 but with screen resolution 800x600.(So I don't need glasses to use the computer) but if I change to 1024 x 768 it works perfect. It also worked ok with the 800x600 on IE.

Thanks to all for your suggestions and research. Maybe with your answers and my little input others can get their Foxfire to work properly or perfectly. hardy

Screen Resolution

Since the problem seems to be related to the screen resolution, you might want to check & see if there is an updated driver for your video card or on-board video.
