MAPQUEST ROUTE

I have a 2595LMT GPS and I am trying to download a route that I built with Mapquest. I download showing waypoints. It show that the map downloaded fine. When I go to the gps I can't find the route map. Any suggestion.

I don't have one of those

I don't have one of those but on my 885 I have to go to My Data and then import the route.

2595LMT Routes

By exploring the GPS 2595LMT, I discover that you have to do the route in Trip Planner on the GPS and than save. It just won't download Map Quest or Map Source. At least I could not make it do it.

Use BaseCamp

According to the Garmin Website, BaseCamp will work with it.

On my Nuvi 750 you have to

On my Nuvi 750 you have to then import the route and then you can then it will be seen.

I just tried for the first time today to upload MQ route and It was interesting to say the least. When I loomed at the file it was only 2K so I decided to look at in with MapSource. In MapSurce the route was a straight line from the start to the finish. I was in the house without satellite connection so I could not see what the route actually was.

I find MapSource much easier that the junk pos BaseCamp so I will just stick with that.

Why Garmin would do away with allowing you to create and upload your own routes is beyond understanding.

BaseCamp

I don't know how to use BaseCamp. I have looked at it, but was too confusing to me.

was that some software was not only difficult to use, it bordered on being User Hostile.

Base Camp does take some getting used to, the videos are not real helpful in that what the show as route planning is going about 20 blocks. It took me about 4 hours to figure out how to plan a 150 mile trip. After I did the trip a few times some things did begin to come easier, but it sure ain't easy!
