Someone posted on an RV forum that I follow that Amazon has lowered the price on the Garmin nuvi 465LMT 4.3-Inch Trucking GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map and Traffic Update.
The current price is $234.95. Is this a good price? and What are your thoughts on this unit.
I am interested because we tow a 36 ft. 5th wheel and some of the features seem like they would be good to have.
Any thoughts or comments??
nüvi 465LMT vs. dēzl 560LMT
The thread here has a comparison between the nüvi 465LMT and the dēzl 560LMT. The 465LMT might be a good option for you, especially at that price. Given that you're using the GPS for pleasure, the business-related features of the dēzl are overkill. The exit services feature of the dēzl however I believe you would miss, more so than Junction View (the 465LMT only has Lane Assist).

Thanks
Thanks for heading me in the right direction and also, thanks for your input!

New or Refurbished?
The Garmin nuvi 465LMT @ Amazon.com for $234.99 is a refurbished unit. They normally carry a shorter (30-90 day) warranty. The new unit is $254.99.
not much difference between new and refurb--
While I'm a big fan of refurbished products (660 and 680 refurbs from eBay), for that difference in price, if I wanted that feature set, I'd go for the new one.

Ditto!
I've had both
I've owned a 465T and now have a 560LMT. I use them in the 18-wheeler as well as in the car.
I found the 465T did WEIRD routes -- like having me exit, go through the off ramp, then take the on ramp, and continue. The 560LMT doesn't seem to do that.
I finally put the 465T in the "auto" mode and gave it to our youngest son, who is 25 years old. He likes it.

New vs refurbished
It does not seem like much difference in price between the new and refurbished GPS. I agree I would go for the new one.

Have you looked at the Magellan model that is RV specific? I've seen the ads, looks good to me.

If the Magellan holds with the other models you can't customize the unit with POI files. You are stuck with what the factory provides and no way to augment their selections.

Well, that would be something to look into.... could be though that the other advantages to an RV specific model might outwiegh that fact for some people. The Magellan has a lot in it that you's have to add aps in other brands to get.
If I were presently shopping for a new one I'd certainly look at all aspects.
RV mode
The 560 has an RV mode, I don't remember if the 465 did or not. Suspect it did.
The truck mode can be customized for length, width, height, & weight, so that would work for truck & boat if one was so inclined.

Not!!??
That unit will not accept custom Pois...
Truck unit only? Why would you want it.

RV use
The OP is looking for a unit for his RV. The 560 has pedestrian, auto, truck, and RV modes, handles up to 1,000 Favorites, and supports POI's just fine.
