Garmin talk

My c580 started to lose sattellites all of the sudden... Is there anything I should do ? Do i have to buy a new one? Which units are good on the market.. I paid almost 600 when it first came out.... Tried to email garmin, but I can't find their email address... Can someone help.... please.....

I am still leaning how POI's work, so please be patient with me. I have a Nuvi 680, and loaded (or so I thought) a couple different POI files via POI loader. When its finished, it say "congats, you installed x-amount poi's. However, I cannot find them in the nuvi itslef, not do I get alerts. Not sure if either of these are suppose to happen.

Perhaps someone can answer this. Wall-Mart is offering a Garnim c550 for 198.00. What is the difference from the garmin 550?. Thanks for any input. Bill T.

I saved POI in SD card. I don't know how to activate from my Garmin Nuvi 760 GPS.Please explain step by step.

Once I program in a POI, how do i find it again when i need it?

I need to program in all of the "CFN Commercial Fuel Network" locations.
I was thinking about programming them into Favorite Locations, instead of POI's.

I need to be able to select a FIND CFN option, and get to the closest gas station.

Is this possible using POI's, or should I just stick to the Favorite places?

I have the Garmin 760 and therefore and this is a blurb from the Garmin website. With route planning you can save 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns on the 760's wide screen.

I have my POIs setup in Folders like "Fast Food","Attractions","Rest Areas"..etc. I have set Manual alerts for each POI in each Folder. I just updated my "McDonalds and "Starbucks" with the new POI updates listed on this site. When I went to upload these new ones into my Garmin I had to Manually set "All" the Alerts for All my POIs not just the new updated ones.

I have never used the "downloaded" version of the update, only the DVD update. When I use the DVD version, when all is completed, I have the 2009 maps loaded on the GPS SP2820 AND it is loaded in Mapsource.

My question is:

Does anyone know of way to get a Garmin nuvi 2xx to display the title of a Custom POI on the maps like Favorites are? Is it possible?

It seems when I enter a destination, the estimated time is right on when I get to it... but I usually drive 15-20 over the speed limit. How do they estimate the arrival time?

I was just looking through the Garmin Site, and I can not find the program to create and upload POI files to my Nuvi 350.

Is there any easy way to take a list of addresses (in a CSV file), and easily create a POI file?

trying to veiw all the pointer files on my computer they dont show up . says not supported. i have a Sony with windows vista what do I do?

I've had my c530 for almost 2 years now and I'm looking to upgrade. Sam's Club has a nuvi 750 for $299. This seems like a pretty good deal. The features look like it would make a good upgrade. I like the ability to create routes with multiple waypoints. I'm not really looking for anything Bluetooth compatible. What I guess I'm asking is, would the 750 be a good upgrade from the c530?

On my Nuvi 750 it shows a blue line on every street I travel and stays there all the time even after I turn it off and on. Is there a way to get rid of the blue lines?

Is anyone using Firefox 3 to send route to Garmin through Google maps?

I am using Firefox 3 and choosing a direction in Google maps. When I click on "Send" - only the email option shows up, "Send to GPS" is not available.

Ok, so this has probably neen beaten to death somewhere else in the POI Factory, but doing a search really didn't answer my questions. I've been GPS'ing for over a year now with my trusty and reliable c340. Now I'm looking to get a unit for my motorcycle since I do a lot of long-distance touring on my bike - an older BMW RT. And either the Zumo 450 or 550 seems to fit the bill.

When I went to run my Web Updater yesterday I received a communications error.It says that i am not connected to the internet but obviously I am. Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas?

Does anyone know how big of a SD card the 550c will support? I have read on the others, but there is no mention of the 550. I was just wanting to add more mp3 files. thanx

VERY new to GPS and Garmin but am a fast learner. I have downloaded and installed the Garmin Communicator plugin, tested it, and have been downloading businesses via the "Send to GPS" function. However, when I checked the results on the Garmin, I found that only the lat/lon is displayed under the name; all of the business information shown in the "send" window is missing.
