My Favorite

Is the one I have not bought yet....

My current ones are in my signature.

If only Garmin would make a CDMA/LTE version of the Nuviphone... That would be my favorite. smile

And why? Because I can. smile

Love my Nuvi 260. Small, cheap, works great, minimalistic, and speaks street names. Anything more would have been more than I needed.

The 885T. Because I like voice activation....no tapping screen...AND removable rechargable battery.

The ones I have...

I bought more on price point.

I like the 660 and 680 we've got currently. They work, they're paid for, and I know their quirks. Started out with a 660 (bought refurbished from eBay). It had the right set of bells and whistles at a price point that was reasonable to me.

When my son wanted one, I bought another refurbished 660 from the same seller on eBay -- and they sent me a 680. I kept the 680 and gave my son the 660.

my fav

my fav would be my nuvi 5000 i had a nuvi 200w love the BIGGER SCREEN the MSN DIRECT and the ability to hook up a back up camera and the nuvi 5000 is the only one that you can hook up a backup camera to

nuvi 5000 & nuvi 200w
(lifetime maps)

755T

I am a relative newbie to GPS. For vacation travel, I had used a Delorme LT-40 with Street Atlas USA on a laptop for a couple of years. It worked great for routing and navigation, but of course it reqired the passenger to operate it enroute.

After doing much research on this and other forums, I decided on the Nuvi 755t and got my first "real" GPS in November. I just returned from a 2900 mile round trip from IA to FL and I have to say from now on I will be totally LOST without without my 755T, both literally and figuratively. I never pulled out a paper map during the entire trip. The traffic rerouting got me through a nasty delay in Atlanta and took me on a very interesting and scenic route from Cocoa Beach to Orlando. The POI's worked great for finding restaurants, lodging, rest stops and attractions. I used the MP3 player extensively to play audio book playlists and I love the feature where it pauses the play to give directions. I used the audio cable connection to play the sound through my car stereo, so sound quality and volume adjustment worked great.

There were a few routing glitches and anomolies that occurred along the way. And I did see the reboot problem a few times, particularly in areas where I was picking up the Navtaq traffic signal and simultaneously using POI alerts and the MP3 player. But it always came back and kept me on route. All in all, the Nuvi 755T worked great and the few times I made a wrong turn, Jill recaluclated me back on track and got me where I needed to be.

Garmin does need to work on their quality control for software. I have already been thru versions 2.5, 2.8, 3.0, 3.1 and 3.3 ... in just 3 months! Every version seems to fix two problems and create 3 new ones. But that said, I love my Nuvi 755T and wouldn't give it up.

The two things I would like to see .... replacable battery and routing road avoidance like you can do on MapQuest.

Garmin

I have the nuvi 750 bought it for being able to add
routes but never use it, and now think I should
of got the nuvi 760 for the bluetooth but guess
I wouldn't use it either.

2610

My favorite is still my old StreetPilot 2610. The only downside is no internal battery so it 'must' be plugged in to an accessory outlet. There's also no TTS voice but there is turn by turn vocal direction. Other than that the device has everything all the Nuvi's have and quite a bit more. The nicest thing is the way the main screen can be customized. There are transparent 'tabs' that can be manipulated to show the data you see on the dashboard of later model Nuvi's without having to leave the map. You can also add other data to the tabs (elevation for one). In short, you customize the map screen to suit 'your' needs. The route tracking can actually be reversed along with being toggled completely off if wanted.

The 2610 logged more than 50,000 miles mounted on my motorcycle (not exactly an electronics friendly environment) and never let me down.

Cheers

Like what I bought!

Still very pleased with the 360 (1st nuvi), which continues to function beautifully (2+ years), and fully enjoy the 750 (2nd nuvi, 1+ years), bought to get a widescreen, full featured unit. I didn't buy a 760 because I didn't need the bluetooth (from 360 experience). Spent lots of time comparing/contrasting features vs. price/value vs. needs and continue to be happy with that shopping approach.

Really love my 260

Have the C330, C340 and nuvi 260

I am extremely happy with my 260 "version" which is actually an "upgraded" 260.
Both the C340 and Nuvi 260 fill my needs but I really like the slim styling and added features in my 260.

I guess it's a case of "simple" solutions for a "simple" person !

Have 21,000 Custom POI's on both !
The Nuvi 260 also has .wav files and some tourguide files with the Custom POI's.

Love my 660

I too started with the 330..well actually I started with my Etrex..and the screen was too small for car use. I still have it and love it for geocaching. I just bought a 760 on sale on Amazon..and not sure if I like it better than the 660 yet. Maybe once I learn all the quirks, I do like the speed limit posting..

Well, I've only owned the

Well, I've only owned the 265WT, but it's an awesome unit. I like the better CPU (faster calculations), the text to speech, and I REALLY like the traffic reports. Not always very accurate, but still a cool feature (for the life of the product).

My $0.02

I briefly owned a nuvi 760 (about 1 month). It died and Amazon took it back. I replaced it with a nuvi 265wt.

I like the newer interface on the 265wt, the lifetime traffic, and the faster processor. Bluetooth seems to work a little better on the 265wt than the 760. And I think the speaker is louder and the screen might be a little brighter. I have no hard evidence for the last sentence since I never had them side by side.

I miss the mp3 player and the FM transmitter (even though it was weak) on the 760. I really miss the powered dock and fast release of the 760. The 265wt you have to plug the cord into the back every time.

nuvi 550

I have briefly owned the 255w, 265wt and 760.
After the pro's and con's I finally settled on the 550. It seems to have "almost" everything (except the Qwerty kybd).

This spring I'll be buying the micro-SD card that has all the navigation for the lake that my cottage is on.

Only One

My C340 has served me well and shows no signs of slowing down, so I know of no other GPS. grin

Favorite Garmin

Garmin's are changing so fast and the price is changing just as quick. I remember not to many years ago I believe it was a Nuvi model of any kind started at some where around 500.00

A lot of good info and incite here thanks all!
