new vehicle and voice help

Hello all!! Extreme newbie here. Have had my nuvi 200 for less than a month and am thrilled with all I am able to do with it so far. But I need some help adding a new vehicle and voice. I have downloaded them directly to the device, and also to my PC poi files and then loaded them from that location. When I have it connected to my PC and open the 'E' destination, it shows both loaded to my device, but neither will appear when I look for them. HELP!! Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Help

Not sure about the 200, but most nuvis show a wrench on the main screen. if you click on that you will be given choices for changing the settings look around until you find the vehicle, click change and choose the one you want, same thing with the voice.

More info

Exactly which vehicle and voice are you trying to load. There is an outside chance that you've put them on your unit, but that they are not compatible with it so the unit won't read them.

The question is exactly where did you put them? Voices are loaded to the garmin/voice folder, vehicles to the vehicle folder. Vehicles are a zip file, so it has to be unzipped before loading and if I remember correctly the voices are loaded using Web Updater. (It has been quite a while since I loaded a voice to my 200.)

You can get rid of all the unused voices, unless you need them. The same for the text files. This will give you more room in the device.
