Since you are the whiz when it comes to Garmin progs, can you make a prog to remove the initial 'idiot' screen where you have to press OK to get to the main screen?

I would love it if you could, and I'm sure others would as well!

I just got a 765T, I use to use my 650.
The 650 splash screen upon boot up was full screen.
The 765 is not.
How do I make the splash screen full screen on boot up?

The ones that came with the unit aren't even full screen. Those sizes are 480X232 and the one i'm using is 480x272 and that's not even full screen.

Is it possible to have it full screen on boot?

Can you tell me how do you use Garmin POI Loader to create TourGuides?

Before using POI Loader I have been using the Geovative.com web site to create groups of poi's and let the Geovative.com softwere convert them to separate .gpi files.

Got this in the email today, Speaks clearly of what will occur.
This will "unactivate" all the MSN features on both my 780 and 265wt.

Today I attempted to load the "Scenic Drives" from POI Factory using the Garmin loader. I only got 54 locations to transfer to my zumo 660. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I understand that the 855 has the capability of showing the speed limit for certain highways. So far I have not experienced this in practise. Perhaps it's because the unit does not have Canadian speed limits programmed into it.
Two questions.
How does the 855 display speed limit?
Can I add speed limits for Canadian roads?

Recently (twice in the last month or so) my C530 has reset itself after being shut down. I always turn it off then shut off my car...it stays plugged in but the accessory plug turns off with the car. When I restart my car the unit has reset to factory defaults...all favorites are gone except for custom pois.

Any thoughts on the cause/cures would be appreciated.

I am using a garmin nuvi 880 and have include several mp3 sound files along with my poi files... all with the correct extensions. So I decided to download some additional mp3 files and when I click on the link I end up at a 'blank page' site?? what gives? My browser settings?? how to fix?

First... sorry if this has been answered already... I waded through some of the 1300+ responses to the Map Upgrade thread and an answer to my question didn't jump out at me.

I know someone mentioned this in a previous discussion about this update, but that was 27 pages long, and I'm lazy. (Heck, that's why I have a GPS, right?)

Is there a way to delete the not used files after importing a route from file? I have 765T, and I have downloaded some routes, then imported. I have some that I don't want any more, but can't see how to delete them

My 765T seems to have a problem when pressing the screen. When I press the screen, many times the button that is being selected isn't entered, but another item elsewhere on the screen. For example, when pressing a letter on the screen keyboard, a different letter in an entirely different area of the screen is often selected.

Hello. My 765 gives me only a few seconds before a turn. In distance it is often 15 feet or less on a side street.

My 660 gives me much more than double the notice. Is there a setting I can change for this?

Just bought Garmin Trip & Wavepoint mangager from an online retailer. So I could get the mapsource software to create my own routes. Cd arrived today. When I went to install and use I was unable to "unlock" maps. When I attempted to run unlock maps from the utilities tab I get an error message saying "unalbe to start unlock wizzard. please reinstall the program and try again."

It's been awhile since I purchased a new GPS and am wondering what Garmin's policy is now on free map updates if the GPS you buy doesn't have the latest maps.

If all Garmin units would have speed limit signs and change colors at a set mph over the speed limit. Maybe a beep alert that can be turned off?
