Invisible Shield for 765T?

I just acquired a 765T and have previously used the Invisible Shield products on cell phones. I visited their website at zagg.com and they only have a generic 700 series listed for the Garmin Nuvi.

Can anyone confirm that the physical dimensions are identical for all the 700 series including the 7X5.

TIA,

Alan

I got a "700 series" for the 760 and it fit fine, but I don't have a 765 so can't directly comment on that. If the specs on Garmin's page are exactly the same as the 760 then it should fit based on my experience. You could always ask them if they have a return policy if it doesn't fit.

Same size

Even though you didn't answer the original question, I do pretty much agree with your assessment. I'm a firm Invisible Shield user for some things (wrist watch crystals, cell phone and camera screens, my Garmin eTrex handheld GPS screen), I don't see why I'd want to Zagg my nuvi unless I was using it handheld in Pedestrian mode--and nuvi batteries really aren't up to supporting this mode in a big way.

.

All 4.3" wide screen nuvis, regardless of model number, have the exact same screen dimension.

3.81"W x 2.25"H (9.7 x 5.7 cm); 4.3" diag (10.9 cm)

What fits on say, a nuvi 750 will also fit on a nuvi 265W.

I would also say that an invisibleSHIELD is overkill for a nuvi as the screens themselves are recessed fairly well and are pretty tough and scratch-resistant on their own. I'm also one who has zagg'd all his cell phones and hand-held GPS units but I have never seen any need to zagg my nuvi units.

Can make touch screen worse

Also on the 765T there are touch calibration problems .. I don't think its wise to put another barrier on there and make the touch screen worse.

YMMV

I 'zagg-d' my Nuvi 780 and can honestly say it works very well. Yeah, it's overkill, but I'm not exactly gentle with my electronic devices and they end up with battle scars after a while... unless I take extraordinary precautions. I picked the Garmin Nuvi 700 series 'full body' shield, as others said they are all the same dimensions.

My 765T has a 'Best Skins Ever' shield. A lot cheaper, but they do not offer a full body cover. If you really want the Zagg, wait for the 50% off sale, they have one about once a year. Someone on this list usually points it out, I'm hoping they have another before Christmas. You can almost always find a 20% off coupon.

The Best Skins Ever is about $6, The Zagg (full body) is about $25, the Zagg (screen only) is $15... 50% off makes the Zagg a bit easier on your wallet. I think they both offer lifetime free replacements
