New Garmin Voice updates available (7x0/7x5, 8x0/8x5 maybe others)

New Garmin voice updates are available via WebUpdater or myDashboard (myDashboard will likely find a firmware update but in actuality, it is the voices that are being updated, not the firmware). The version numbers will vary depending on the particular voice. The updates (as far as I could tell) are for the 7x0/7x5, 8x5/8x5 series nuvis...others may have the same updates. Run WebUpdater to see if anything new is released for your unit. myDashboard does not report individual component updates (at least not the last time I tried it).

Changelog for all updated voices:

* Improved pronounciation

Updated voices:

American Spanish-Javier (TTS)
American Spanish-Paulina (TTS)
Brazilian Portuguese-Racquel (TTS)
Canadian French-Felix (TTS)
Canadian French-Julie (TTS)
Danish-Nanna (TTS)
European Portuguese-Madalena (TTS)
Flemish-Ellen (TTS)
Norwegian-Nora (TTS)
Swedish-Ingrid (TTS)

Thank You.

I like to keep the voices updated.

Thanks

But, I cut and paste (not delete) all my non-used voices to my Garmin Saved folder on the computer. All 376 megs of them! Saves a good bit of room.

Now, if Paulina and Raquel could speak english, I be drooling! Jill and Karen would get kicked to the curb, muy pronto! wink

Thank You

I may just be my faulty memory, but the old voices on the 2610 units seemed more natural. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads up.

Note that these voices were announced in this thread in November 2009 so it's possible you've already updated.

no updates for me

sad

Delete this trhead?

Is anyone looking at the various threads to determine when one needs to die? This 2009 announcement is a bit outdated.
