Did a quick compare on the Garmin web page:

https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?cID=134&compareProduc...

It looks like the 755 has several more feature (mp3, audio books, multiple routes, fm transmitter, plus more), BUT the 1390 has bluetooth capability.

I guess it all depends on what features you are looking for. I purchased the 855 (discontinued) which has voice input and a remote control.

The Garmin web page will let you see the differences of all of the current models.

855 discontinued?

When was the nuvi 855 discontinued? I thought it was still in Garmin's current lineup. I must have missed an announcement somewhere along the way. I guess that explains why the price has dropped so much recently. I just ordered one of these from Amazon too.

.

Garmin almost never makes announcement of discontinuations.

However, the nuvi 855 has not been discontinued.

Or at least Garmin's website doesn't list it as such and that is usually the first place that the designation is seen.

Thanks

Thanks for the information about the 855 Motorcycle Mama. I was thinking the 8x5's came out in January of this year and didn't think they had been retired from Garmin's lineup yet. I am guessing that it won't be too long until Garmin pulls the 7x5 series that was introduced in Aug. 2008. Have you heard any rumors about what Garmin is working on these days for new products to be introduced?

Nuvi 855...

I must have been tired when I was typing the message. I bought the 850 not the 855.

Sorry for the typo.

Back to the question

If it still is a question...personally, I'd rather bluetooth my phone to an ear piece rather than a speaker phone, which the 1390 becomes...but then I am an 855 user which doesn't bluetooth. grin
