Usint WebUpdater, I just now hooked up my 765t. I have as a option, a update called "GPS Chipset Type M". I googled for it. There is some info on it, but doesnt really address whether it will help my unit or not, or what it will do. Has anyone here got the update, if so, did you have any problems or improvements? I kinda feel like if it isnt broke, dont fix it.
Chipset update
Probably will improve satellite aquisition time and or accuracy.

Has it been awhile
since you connected your 765T to WebUpdater? It is my understanding that the updates offered are for the particular device that is connected. That is, if you don't have the "M" chipset, you won't be offered the update.
I recall seeing that update for mine earlier this year and there's nothing new for it out there now. That's why I asked if you hadn't checked in awhile, or is this a new GPSr and your 1st time to connect?
If this is the same update for chipset M I got, it improved satellite acquisition time as another had mentioned.

done did it anyways
I have had my 765t since around August. I did firmware updates and the map update, soon after purchase. Using webupdater, I didnt before see the option to update the chipset type M until today. Anyway, I did update it. On a drive today, it seemed maybe quicker satellite aquisition, not sure. Anyhow, it must have been a minor update, because it only took a few seconds to install. Thanks for the info, everybody.
Unless you are the lead sled dog, the view never changes. I is retard... every day is Saturday! I still use the Garmin 3590 LMT even tho I upgraded to the Garmin 61 LMT. Bigger screen is not always better in my opinion.
