I was thinking when i was clearing out my desktop of old photos i took off my nuvi 200. Does anyone have the 2008 north america gmapprom.img file. I am losing my mind tryin to wait for garmin and i sat on hold for an hour today and couldnt wait due to work hours. Please someone help!

Here's a simple question for you. I am sure you all know this, but for some reasons the answer eludes me.

When using POI Loader to create a .gpi file, you can specify an icon file with the same name as your .csv or .gpx file and this icon will be shown on the map at each POI locations.

Questions:

Never paid attention to my dictionary, till i received my Oxford Travel Language Guide. Loading was easy but it doesn't speak the phrases, icon is not grayed out, but nothing happens when i push it. Just to see if i was missing something i used the webupdater and grabbed all the language files. No luck. Garmins website shows they did something to the language guide between version 4.7-4.8.

How do you change map color? This one is gray and dark gray. day and night

Just recently I noticed that I am unable to input addresses into my Nuvi 765t correctly b/c the letters are not calibrated right. If I press "a," "s" prints out, if I press "n," "m" prints out. With most of the letters, it is okay b/c I can just move to the left but the lettes on the right side are a problem, i.e., q, a, and z, b/c I can't press any further left.

Back in Oct. I bought the life time maps. since then i noticed several issues. A exit i go past my gps guided route now has me in a field. and when i look at planned route then back to view map my gps reboots. can anyone help?

Highlights:

I have set up some of the Custom POIs from this site as Tourguides with a proximity alert distance. This works fine but the text message across the screen is covering too much. Is there s way to just have the icon show and not the text?

I own a Garmin 265WT that I bought almost a year back. So far I have no complaints with the unit and drove in California, Florida, Canada as well as pretty much entire North East and it never disappointed me.

Last couple of days when I turn-on the unit, it shows map out of date message. I have already used my Free one time update last year within 60 days of purchase.

I installed some speed alert POI's and one of them has a 2mph red banner warning as I get on the main street off my residential street.. VERY ANNOYING. Is there any way to first identify the file that has this particular warning, and 2 remove that 2mph warning?

OK.. so how many POI's is TOO MANY POI's?

I installed a bunch - and notice a considerable slow down when drawing maps... so I know I'll be taking some off, but how many user installed POI's is the "limit".

One unit is a KENWOOD DNX5120 with Garmin navigation - I'm told its a STREETPILOT 7200.

The other is a Nuvi 255WT .. Both have the same POI's.

I thought I would clean up my favorites after the first of the year. I downloaded the favorites to Mapsource. I had 935 favorites on my NUVI 855!
The vast majority I did not recognize or enter, at least knowingly. When I cleaned up the ones I did not recognize I was down to 139. I deleted all the favorites in the NUVI and reloaded the 139 from Mapsource.
Two questions:

Is it possible to turn promimity alerts (audio) on and off for different categories of Custom POI's on the 1490T. I know that it is possible to turn then on or off completely - but is there a way for there to shut off an alert for Custom POI restaurants but leave the alerts on for Rest Areas - and then be able to turn them back on again from the Garmin not go back to POI loader.

Thought my Garmin 660 would be my GPS for many years, but have noticed now limited battery plus shuting down for no reason. What would you judge a usful life of a Garmin GPS to be.

As announced, I have been working on adding file saving to .gpi format. In the end, this should provide a replacement for Garmin POI Loader. It also adds the ability to create POI icons directly under the Where-To menu.

From what I've read, the power cord on the Nivi 465T is 2.5 times longer than the cord on my Nivi 660. Too long, will my 660 cord work on the 465T ?

When I lock the screen..after awile it will come back up to full brightness without touching it..I have to touch the screen then it will timeout and go back to dulling the light and then it will repeat itself. Dosent seem to do this tho if im in enroute to somewhere..any ideas??

Openstreetmap.org gave me updated maps. Y'all give me updated POIs like nobody else.

Now I just need to delete Garmin's out-of-date POIs. eHow said there would be a POI folder, but I don't see it.

It looks like the out of date gpi file and it's entire folder are packaged in some indistinguishable bin file.

Please help!

Does anyone know if the "ball" on the Nivi 660 suction cup mounting arm work with the "socket" on the NiVi 465T.
