Sub $100 unit? 295w or other model???

So my brother just sold his "legacy" megellan maestro 3100, which they are no longer making maps for.
I told him to buy a garmin. Pricing around, there are LOTS of sub $100 models... I saw the 295w model, which for sure has lots of buzzers and bells, but a small screen...
What would you guys suggest ??? Something under $100 (more under, more better 
)

I use their sight as my reseach baseline since you can get reviews of the products as well as pictures and manufacturer info. I suggest starting their with "gps" in the search line. I took a quick look and there are quite a few under $100 both new and used (quite a bit under if you go used). I saw Garmin, TomTom, and Magellan models. Quite a few are "wide" screen which seems to be 4.3" mostly.

Go by features?
I think I'd go by features your brother thinks are important.
I have a 765T, a 200W, and just bought a 295W because I wanted an Mp3 player & Wi-Fi. The screen is an OK size on the 295W, especially horizontal & snapped into the mount. The speaker is a bit too small though but it works in the car, you just need to 'listen up'.
I miss lane assist/junction view like my 765T, but I can live with it since it wasn't a 765T replacement, but rather an around-town & occasional wi-fi purchase. I like it overall, but his preferences should be the deciding factor, I think.
It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.
great unit
The 295W is a great unit. I not only has wifi (which is a huge plus in my mind) but it can be rotated so that you see more of where you are going rather than more of the roads off to the side where you are not going.
Garmin 255W
Best Buy has/d the 255 advertised for $85. Got one for Christmas (went on sale after but they honored the sale price when we asked about it! - saved $15)
