Do you think it will get lower or has the price hit bottom?
Sure
Sure it will get lower. It's now listed as a Previous model on the Garmin website. The next step is to move it to Discontinued, which I'm told will happen by year end.
I'd suggest you keep your wallet in your pocket until at least Black Friday, or even year end if you really want the best price on this model.
But if you really want it now, it's only $249.99 with free shipping on Amazon.com:

Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.
I like mine but, as noted by
I like mine but, as noted by a few others, I have noticed that it'll sometimes come up with some crazy routes.
One example - I was about 3mi from a place I wanted to eat - straight down the road I was on. It was showing to go off the road I was on and onto some other road (way off course).
So I thought:
- Ok, 'avoiding traffic' - no checked. Avoid Traffic is off.
- Ok, 'Avoid U-Turns' - it was on, but when I turned it off and reset the destination (to the same location) it still gave me crazy directions.
I haven't figured out why. I have 'traffic trends' turned on so maybe that would affect it but from knowing where this place is if it were taking traffic trends into account (I think this was at 3:30 or so in the afternoon) it still wouldn't have made sense to get off this road.
Just really weird routing on this particular day. Day to day use - no problem. I remember seeing something similar with my in-dash Garmin GPS in St. Louis back in Jan of 2010. Had me go way off the interstate, onto all sorts of side roads, to get me back onto the interstate in 5mi or so. Made no sense. I didn't do it, just thought, "Wow - that is so incredibly wrong"
I bought two ....
.... the first week they came out, $299 from Amazon, $50 less is a good deal and of course over time they will probably get even cheaper.
Amazon has a great no questions asked return policy and most things over $25 get free shipping. Of course the free shipping can take a tad longer to get to you.
I'm happy, for the most part, with mine. The only thing I don't like is with the free traffic comes an occational pop up ad, but only when you're not moving.
nudge nudge buy the thing .....

My money in on trafficTrends being the problem. It has been in many other cases. Turning it off may also have another benefit - faster route calculation times.

Since I don’t have any major trips coming in the near future I’ll follow t923347 advice and wait till black Friday.
Considering the cost of lifetime map the 2460lmt is now priced under $200
This is definitely the unit I want to replace my 260

Trafffic Trend
On my 3790LMT I had to turn my Traffic Trend off. It was always wanting me to take a route that I didn't want.

I have the 2450 which is a basic unit of the 2460. I do love mine and don't think you can go wrong with the 2460. I did not need the traffic or the other options it had (can't think of what they were but didn't need them) so I went with the cheaper model and do so love it.

I'll turn it off and report back

I'll turn it off, setup the test again, and see what happens.
It did it to me one other time (I forget where) and I remember thinking, "Why would you have me drive so ridiculously far off course?"
Now, for regular traffic, I keep that as:
- Don't avoid
- Alert me
- I'll make the call
Mainly because it doesn't take any other factors into the calculation other than, "Traffic ahead!" - which isn't good enough. The side streets may be blocked or the traffic may well be worth waiting through (5-10min wait on the interstate is better than 20min of driving around on side roads).
I'll let you know what I find.
Buy When You Need It
I had my choice down to a couple of GPS's for 6+ months, but since I didn't need to replace my aging TomTom till our next really big trip. When we were a month away from the trip, two of my leaders had enough time in the market to show I did want them and the 2460LMT stood alone at the top of my list and I bought it. Having traveled with it now for over 7000 miles I would buy it again. Love the voice programing, even when it screws up the words it makes us smile (sometime laugh out loud).
But it comes down to why buy before you need it, your choices will get cheaper or better. I do recommend getting it soon enough to play for a few weeks before you really need it.
