Garmin talk

We used to be able to copy directly to a GPS any "my places" that you might have saved in Bing Maps.

That feature seems to no longer be available. It offers to export to a GPX file (which you can then upload to the unit with the Garmin loader) but I don't see the copy directly to GPS option.

Have you noticed that? Or is the feature available somewhere in a not very obvious place?

On Saturday we were coming home from Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore when the Red Light camera voice warning and Speed camera warning both came on as both cameras were in/near the intersection. The beeping for the Speed camera would not stop, even though we had long since passed the Speed camera.

I don't believe the warning voice came on for the Speed camera, just the warning beep.

I'm wondering if any of you could recommend a good traffic provider for my Garmin 2360LMT in Montreal's area? I do have the free traffic service included with my GPS, but it only gets traffic flows in highways. Since I drive all day long through the city I'd be very interested in getting a good traffic provider including surface roads. Any suggestion?

I have a GPS 3790LMT. I am trying to delete the Red Light and Speed Camera from the Coustom POI file. I have try from the POI Loader and they are still there. I am trying to update the POI file. I can update the file but the old and new file shows up in the GPS.

I have Garmin nuvi 680. The MSN Direct Receiver with integrated vehicle power cable is broken at the tip, where its connected to the back of Nuvi.

I can charge the Nuvi with wall charger [5v .5 amp] at home.

But on the road, when I charge the nuvi with Universal/ regular Mini-Cigarette-Lighter-Charger-Adapter,

I just bought a used Garmin Nuvi 350. I suspect that it has never even been connected to a computer because the mapping software was pretty out of date. Anyway, this morning I checked and I am eligible for a free map update!

I recently purchased a Nuvi 2595 and would like to clean up the files on it. I've deleted all the ones that are obvious to me as being foreign languages. I've read somewhere on here that this speeds up the GPS processing.
Is there a place where they explain what the files do so I'll know which others can be deleted?

Hello.....I just purchased a Garmin 2595LMT and I want to transfer my favorites from my old model to this one. I have searched here and thought I understood how to do this but it is not working for some reason. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the middle of backing up my Nuvi 1450 using Imgburn to create a ISO image of it. Am I doing too much or should I only backup select files? The reason why I'm asking is because the estimated time to backup the whole 1.8+GB image is about an hour

The 1490 responds with "Saved to Favorites"- Click OK
Then go back to starting page.

When I click on Favorites, that location is just off the coast of Africa. The wrong location also shows up in Recently Found. My 295 does not duplicate the error.

I guess the Nuvi 40 doesn't play mp3 files. Bummer. However, whenever I get to a place where I've created an alert, a small box appears for a few milliseconds. Much too fast to read. Is this normal?

Is there a way to reverse a custom route on a Nuvi?

After downloading version 2012.40 I get the message Cannot authenticate maps on my 2460LMT. I then went to the Garmin my dashboard and downloaded the newest updates for my registered Nuvi 2460 and did the steps it told about disconnecting and restarting the unit. The error message still shows and the GPS firmware shows 2.89 which is the same as when I started.

Just purchused a nuvi 2555LMT, can I use the 110v charger that I had for my nuvi 660

I am on my third Garmin, but it is acting squirrely so I may be looking for the next one. The way I use mine, I put audio books or mp3 songs on it, plug a cord into its headphone jack to pipe the sound through the car's stereo system, and listen to books/songs on the car's speakers while I drive.

The current Garmin's all say they have no mp3 player/audio book player/headphone jack.
