Wal-Mart/ Sams PoiW

Downloaded Wal-Mart/Sams CSV POI,[and other POIs] onto new Garmin 52LM. When a store is selected, there is no "GO" symbol to get the route to download. What is wrong?

Did

Did you use POIloader to install the WalMart POI file?

Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.

Numerals?

If you loaded the files with POI Loader and you can find them in your nuvi's Whereto/Extras/CustomPOIs, then my guess is that the files not offering a green Go button were files on your computer that contain a numeral.

For example, if the file on your computer is:

Walmart_United States & Canada.csv

and it's loaded to your nuvi, you should see a Go button for each location.

On the other hand, if the file on your computer is:

Walmart_United States & Canada[1].csv

you will not be offered a Go. The [1] is often added when downloading a file to a computer folder that already contains a file of that name.

Similar examples:

Motel_6.csv won't result in a Go button while
Motel_six.csv will.

In addition to the missing Go button, is anything else odd going on; i.e., are you getting unplanned speed alerts?

Thank You CraigW, the 1, is the answer, I'm pretty sure. Will try deleting and re-downloading when the Garmin gets back home. Unplanned speed alerts? My husband did mention that the registered speed indicater turned red when over the stated speed limit, on the Garmin. Is this what you mean? Never did that on his old 255W.

Good luck

There's no need to re-download. If the downloaded POI filename has a [1] in it, just rename the file on the computer to a name without the numeral, then re-run POI Loader to install the file(s) to the nuvi.

Yes, the newer nuvis do change your current speed from black to red when exceeding what the nuvi considers to be the speed limit. But that's not what I was referring to--when there's a numeral in the filename of a POI file on your computer, you may start to see alerts pop up on the nuvi. It sounds like you haven't seen this yet.
