I had a Garmin 2595 , did all the updates, when I input an address the miles for the text never changed as I drove. I exchanged it two times and had the same problem. I just purchased a Garmin 3590, did all the updates, and when I input an address the miles for the text never changed as I followed the screen. I have a Garmin 1390 and that one works great.

Is is possible that the future for Garmin automobile units will be Android based? Certainly Android has been a success. Would be worthwhile or would it just be a waste?

I have just gotten a 3597, love it BUT , Garmin in their great wisdom resized the POI icons but not the vehicle as far as I can see (I did resize my users POI's icons) I find it hard to see among the clutter of the large gas,bank,restaurant, etc ones. How do I get a bigger car?

I just bought a 3490lmt (to replace my stolen 765t) that comes with HD traffic. I am also considering purchasing the Live Traffic through smartphone link. It is to my understanding that both services cannot be used at the same on the device, so can anyone offer any experience as to which one is more accurate?

Just installed the latest jcv and gmapsupp.img files to my 4gb SD memory chip. All is working file, but, I want to install more POI's, and evidently they are installed to the internal 2gb memory chip on my nuvi 1450, which is full. Can i delete the 1.437gb gmapprom.img file from .System folder of the internal memory chip to make room ?

I just noticed today that after updating to the latest maps, that up in the Newmarket area, some of the city streets have speed limits now added. Not sure if anybody has posted this, but haven't noticed anything myself, and good to know it is not just our main highways that have the speed limits posted. Not sure of the scope of which areas have speed limits though...

I want to copy my favorites from my 765t, to my 3590LMT GPS. Doing it the conventional way, by copying it from the old unit to the new unit, and renaming it from current.gpx to temp.gpx did not work. Also, not renaming it did not work either. At any rate, my favorites do not show on the new GPS. Anybody know what I need to do? Thanky!

So before I went to install the latest map updates I only had 400mbs or so left on my internal memory, so I went out today to buy a 16gig microSD at Best Buy. It was a good deal at $9.99 but I didn't need it!

I thought the new map update is 2 gigs or so? What am I missing?

I got the 2555lmt recently and spend most of my workday on the Northern fringe of traffic coverage for the Boston area. I would tap the traffic icon from time to time to see if it could receive any live traffic info. What was amusing was that when it did get a weak signal, if I browsed within traffic conditions it would give me 2 or 3 areas to avoid that were over a thousand miles away!

I have a Nuvi 270, and keep a 4gb sd card in it, mainly for the Europe map (which got large) and and pics I carry.

I've seen a few people mention in these threads their belief that GPS receivers have become so inexpensive that "nobody bothers to steal them anymore". This imagined "fact" is often offered to explain why they don't take a few seconds to remove it from the windshield, or even why they do and then "cleverly hide it" rather than taking it with them.

Yesterday, I just purchased the Garmin 3590LMT. Am having problems finding the custom POIs I installed using poiloader. Also, my sounds are not working. For years I installed POIs, using the .csv .bmp and .mp3 using the same file name, in my 765t. My new 3590 has to use .wav files. I have sox.exe in the same directory as my poiloader.exe program.

Does garmin 1390 require wav files or MP3 for spoken alerts?

How can I stop the sound from playing over and over on alert? Have set the gps to one time but not to work. again thanks 4 help someday will tell some one a cure instead of asking for help all the time

The Pennsylvania Turnpike has put in a few slip ramps on and off the turnpike that are only for EZPASS users. They can be a great time saver. The trouble is that no Garmin map has the ramps or the option to use them. There has always been an Avoid Toll Road feature, what is needed is a Use Transponder-Only Ramps option.

I guess this is a simple question, but I would like to know for sure before I carry on trying to put custom sounds on my Nuvi 52. Does anyone know for sure that MP3 files in the POI folder work on this model? Thanks.

the battery in my GPS don't keep the charge for long,,,,20 minutes max and less, when connect to the charger cable in the car is fine..Is any solution.
