Automatically load a custom vehicle when an SD card map loaded?

I have a Nuvi 1490 with snowmobile maps loaded on an SD Card.
Does anyone know how to embed a custom vehicle (.SRF) in a map (gmapsupp.img) so when the map (ie selected layer in Settings>Map>Info) loads, it automatically loads the custom vehicle?
I have the vehicle loaded on the card,...

I don't think it's possible to link vehicle icon to map. Icons are not depended on or embedded in maps. They are independently loaded into device. So only way to change vehicle icon is to do it manually when you are using said map.
And device icon has to be loaded to proper folder on device (depending on device model), otherwise icon will not be visible for device.

Just wondering if there was a way to embed it so that when a particular map is selected it is the default vehicle..

It can't be done. Vehicles only load from the main unit, not an SD card inn any event. Vehicles are a system wide option and are not selectable by map or route.

Vehicle icon are not embedded or connected to map in any way. They are just marks that device displays on screen to show current position. It will show even with all maps removed. If your device has no option to make display of vehicle icon connected to particular map (and I don't think there is any device from Garmin that can do it) there is no way to automatically change icon with map. You have to do it manually every time you need to change icon.
