C3 vs C5 Hardware

Just curious, Is the Hardware in the Street Pilots c3's the sames as the c5's...... If the hardwares the same Couldn't you just Flash the Firmware and have better graphics on the screen? Just a thought, I figured Garmin would do this to save production cost.

I've done this with other products that offer their firmware for free and saved a few hundred dollars.

The chipsets are different!

The chipsets are different! So updating the firmware of a 3xx with a 5xx wouldn't work

Maps are the same. I think that goes for all of the units that have the built in Maps.
Difference is (as has been mentioned) the brighter screen and the SiRF III.
