Can I add a FM transmitter ??

Hello POI Factory,
Dose anyone know if you can add a FM transmitter to a Garmin Nuvi 350. It does have a opening for a headphone jack. I want to send the Garmin voice to my car radio. If one is available what is the brand name of it. Thanks

Yes, you can

Look at various iPod accessories and you can find something that will work, there are lots of brands...I had a Belkin one before I did something a little different - went the hard-wired option. I got a device that installed into the unused CD changer port on my vehicle's audio system that gives me a cord I plug into my Nuvi350 and I can play MP3s, and Karen tells me where to go - all through the vehicle's speakers. Well worth looking into. One company that make such boxes is PAC, another is PIE - websites easy to find via Google.

If you have a 3.5mm jack

If you have a 3.5mm jack that outputs the sound, then yes, you can add an FM transmitter.

Look for the Belkin Tunecast II.

FM Transmitter

The FM Transmitter made by "Monster" is a good one too.

I have the Model 300 from Monster and it has 3 pre-sets of FM freqs. that you can set, but it will cover the entire FM band.

I have the Belkin Tunecast

I have the Belkin Tunecast II, and while it works great, it goes through batteries pretty fast. It also seems to shut down fairly quickly if there's now audio signal coming into it.

I recently got an iRiver AFT100 Mobile FM Transmitter and it works great. It can be set from 88.1 to 107.9 and unlike the Tunecast, this one plugs into an accessory outlet so no batteries are needed. Of course, that could be a negative if you've got all your outlets filled already.
