Garmin Nuvi 880

The Garmin Nuvi 880 crams in a number of features into the 4.9 inches wide by 3.1 inches high by 0.7 inch deep unit that weighs 6.2 ounces which allows for easy portability between vehicles. Its included text-to-speech functionality, MSN Direct services, and Bluetooth, and non glare screen make this a highly desirable GPS system. The 880 has a slot for microSD memory cards. and there are a number of personalization features including putting in a new pointer from the Garmin Garage. MSN direct keeps increasing the feature set for you and this is a convenient addition. the MSN antenna and charge cord have their own battery so that the device only needs to download updates. Some write ups give poor points to the Bluetooth connection to your phone but I haven't found that to be the case.

The portable navigation system offers the best and most accurate speech recognition capabilities according to a number of electronics testers and I agree with them 100%. One of the added advantaged is, instead of a code word to activate the speech recognition, you have a remote to turn it on making for a more accurate connection with the GPS.

Only downside I found was the FM broadcaster to the car radio is poor but that is the same problem with most of the competition. Also the built in internal speakers on the GPS might not give you enough volume if you are in a noisy environment.

It is a little on the pricy side at a MSRP of $900 US but if you show wisely I can be found for under $500.
