Best Nuvi For My Salesperson Daughter?

We're planning to get a Nuvi for my daughter for her sales calls. I like the models with the "route Optimization" that automatically organizes several stops into an efficient route. Does anyone know if any of the models that have this could be purchased for $270 or less? This would include some of the older models that Circuit City and others sell for less.
Also if anyone has a model that does this, is it worth it? Does it make an efficient route?

Perhaps this feature is not really worth it. I saw a GPS Tips website that showed how to enter several sales stops as, ZZ01, ZZ02, etc. This way your stops are arranged together in the favorites page and you can see which one is closest to you.

Go to gpsmagazine.com and

Go to gpsmagazine.com and you can view almost all of the gps units and see what features they have. Check out the buyer's guide and the reviews. This will help you make the best decision.

750

The Nuvi 750 allows you to save routes. And the price has really dropped in the last few weeks. You can get it on Amazon.com right now for $280 with free shipping. There are other places with slightly lower prices, but I just mentioned the safest one IMHO. Be careful of places advertising REALLY low prices. There are a lot of scam online retailers who do bait-and-switch tactics.

I can't comment on the route feature, I rarely use it on my 750. But when I do use it I manually input the order of my stops.

Nuvi 660

This one suits me fine if they still make it. Cosco and Amazon are good places to check for pricing. Someone mentioned GPSmagazine.com. It is good site for review and compare features.

.

The 660 is a great unit, but it doesn't have Route Optimization.

You need to look at the 7xx or the 8xx series for that feature.

nuvi 650?

I like the 660, which cost us $299 (as low as $279 recently), but the 650 is $199 on amazon.

That doesn't have bluetooth (get a $35 Plantronics Voyager 520 instead), ac adapter (plug it in to the lighter socket), FM transmitter (who cares), and traffic (doesn't seem to be of any real use). The 650 seems to be some real bang for buck!

FYI 680 For $200

The Amazon deal today for a 680(Refurb) for $199 w/FS really got my attention. jm2c

routing gps

I love my nuvi 750. Never used the routing much, but everything else is great. Even plays audible e books for those long drives. I got mine at sam's club for $299.98. If the price goes lower, they will refund the difference as long as it is still in stock.

Audio book feature on my 660

Audio book feature on my 660 is so cool on trips, or whever really. It halts at voice updates and restarts at the last part of the story after you shut down the GPS, with the last sentence you just heard. I just wish that audio book media(except for the library) isn't more open and affordable. sv

Price on 7xx Garmin

Check Sam's Club (in person or online) for some good pricing on the 7xx Garmins also.

I'd highly recommend the Nuvi 205W, on special from costco.com right now for only $199, with a FREE portable GPS bean bag mount. I love the 205w.

Bean Bag mount is the best

The Garmin bean bag is around $40, so that is a good deal. I much prefer the bean bag to the suction cup mount.

I like my 880, but it is not in the lower price range yet. I expect it will get there sooner or later though.

If route planning is

If route planning is important, and it sounds like it is, I wouldn't fudge it by using Favorites. The closest one to you as-the-crow-flies is not necessarily the fastest one to drive to next. Also, with route planning you can plug them all in while at your desk, and then go, because the nuvi remembers the route even when off. Without it, you'd have to enter in each one sequentially as each stop is made, and then delete the favorites later.

Thanks for All The Suggestions

I'll go to the website mentioned. Thanks for all the responses. I'm also going to check out the Nuvi 750 too. I'm interested in how big it is. A bigger unit would have an nicer screen, but I think she would like a small unit to get into her purse or briefcase.

BJ's has Nuvi 255W for $299 - $30 rebate

Another good price I'm thinking for this one.
The rebate is at the register and is good 11/6
thru 11/19/2008.

Any Advantage of 255W or 205W or Nuvi 650?

Is there any advantage that the 255W or 205W would have over the 650? Would it have newer maps or more features?

Thanks

I agree...this is a great unit..I love mine it does lack the routing function but gets me where I am going every time. It has a Lot of great things that the more expensive units dont. I love the Blue tooth. and the Mp3 player, as my car has the audio input to play the unit right into my stereo..

nüvi 750

I'd have to agree that, if you want the "route optimization" feature, the nüvi 750 is going to be, by far, your best Garmin value. It has everything the 760 has except the Bluetooth. It's a great unit and it DOES have the route optimization feature. The price has dropped dramatically as well. For the price range you are considering, I can't see how you could beat this unit.

The nuvi 780

The nuvi 780 aint bad either! It has all the bells and whistles, just no voice recognition.

NUVI 265T

I like this model because it is small and includes alot of great features (incl. bluetooth and traffic). The price is also affordable (~$260).

I finally decided on the Nuvi 255

After driving my wife nuts, I finally decided to get the Nuvi 255. I could have bought one with route optimization, but my daughter indicated that she really can't base her sales calls on the most logical route. The 255 supposedly has a faster processor and for the price, I thought it would be best for her. Thanks for all the input from everyone.
