Last night Garmin Express uploaded and installed a firmware update to v2.90 ON my zumo 665. I was attempting to find on the Garmin site the details of the update TO READ AND POST ... but ... for the life of me, I can't find where Garmin is hiding it on their site.
I can find a bunch of current firmware listings for many older models but can't find any listing for any of my current models. What a frustrating website Garmin has.
Oh well, stop and read it on Garmin Express before installing it.
Here's the link:
Here's the changelog:
Changes made from version 2.80 to 2.90:
Fixed an error with the connection to IPhone 4s.
Fixed an error that caused audio distortion when phone call audio is transferred to phone and then back to device.
I still don't see how you get to that page. What page do you start from?
You can't get to those links/pages by browsing Garmin's site...
I have a collection of these links collected over many years. Some I've collected on my own by updating firmware & when the updater shows you the changelog for a particular unit, a link is revealed. Some, I've gotten from:
I got your unit's link by going to the above page, looking a key description. The one I used was "zumo 660 (GCD File)". Googling that but adding your model number of 665 (zumo 665 (GCD File) gave me the link I posted...it was the first Google search result.
At the time of this posting, the gpsinformation site above had not yet been updated so the direct link was not there. I'd expect it to be updated soon with your model number and this newest update.
Who'd a thought?
I think Garmin makes good products, but their software information is severely lacking, as are their manuals that are not included and must be downloaded
